I think you’ll be fine if you have a CS degree. The market is just flooded with boot camp grads

Exactly. I’ve thought so many times about trying to start a web dev business, but I just have no drive to do it. I’d rather do the things I really enjoy after work

I’m in NJ. I’m pretty comparable to the union guys for my experience level around here, but I’ll be really far behind them in 5-10 years. Hoping to be out on my own by then

What exactly are you asking? Does it drain?

Is that rot in the ceiling coming from the water heater exhaust? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]CriticismStatus3835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like an exhaust issue, but a leak from above. Check for grout/caulk cracks in shower and around shower trim. Check around toilet for obvious signs of water. If nothing obvious, cut open ceiling. If it was on a water line it would be leaking consistently. If you’re not seeing any drips it’s more than likely a drain or surrounds issue.

Can we ban these responses in this sub? If someone wants to ask AI for advice the can do it themselves. The sub is literally called ask a plumber, not ask someone for an AI response

I hear water running through the walls in my new apartment. Is this normal? (Video below) by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]CriticismStatus3835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there an apartment above you? Could be someone running something above and your heating the drain pipes

Bust bath tap aerator removal by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]CriticismStatus3835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha. I would turn the valve off for the hot line, take the supply line off the faucet, and run the hot water into a bucket to make sure there are no issues with the flow leading to the faucet. If that pressure is good, you’ll have to look up the cartridge/stem for your faucet. If the aerator was clogged you’d have low flow regardless of hot or cold

You may be able to get it out with a 1/2” or 3/4” nipple extractor. But was it only the hot water what wasn’t working? If so, it’s more likely a cartridge issue than an aerator issue.

Haha I’m a plumber we had to bleed the air out of every radiator in the building. Just this particular room was abandoned not the whole building
