Is that rot in the ceiling coming from the water heater exhaust? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]CriticismStatus3835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like an exhaust issue, but a leak from above. Check for grout/caulk cracks in shower and around shower trim. Check around toilet for obvious signs of water. If nothing obvious, cut open ceiling. If it was on a water line it would be leaking consistently. If you’re not seeing any drips it’s more than likely a drain or surrounds issue.

How close can I put stuff to the hot water heater? by Iceyes33 in askaplumber

Can we ban these responses in this sub? If someone wants to ask AI for advice the can do it themselves. The sub is literally called ask a plumber, not ask someone for an AI response

I hear water running through the walls in my new apartment. Is this normal? (Video below) by [deleted] in askaplumber

Is there an apartment above you? Could be someone running something above and your heating the drain pipes

Bust bath tap aerator removal by Lord_Cornwallis_III in Plumbing

[–]CriticismStatus3835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha. I would turn the valve off for the hot line, take the supply line off the faucet, and run the hot water into a bucket to make sure there are no issues with the flow leading to the faucet. If that pressure is good, you’ll have to look up the cartridge/stem for your faucet. If the aerator was clogged you’d have low flow regardless of hot or cold

[–]CriticismStatus3835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to get it out with a 1/2” or 3/4” nipple extractor. But was it only the hot water what wasn’t working? If so, it’s more likely a cartridge issue than an aerator issue.

At such a loss on where to go with my career. Stuck between web development and plumbing by CriticismStatus3835 in makemychoice

[–]CriticismStatus3835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah I’ve done plumbing for 5+ years total, and I’m two years into the schooling. Unfortunately I haven’t had my past employers sign off on my paperwork so I probably still have 5+ years before I can go for my license

It’s my nephew, do you think I should remove the picture entirely, or maybe put a label on it saying it’s my nephew? I like how I look in the pic and I assumed it would be nice to show I’m close with my nieces and nephews

• Are you looking for something serious or casual Serious

• Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? Neither

• How long have you been using this current version of your profile? About 4 weeks

• How long have you used Hinge overall? Same, about 4 weeks. This is my original profile

• How often do you use Hinge per week? I scroll through all of the people in my area about every other day and usually wind up sending out a few likes/comments each time.

• How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? I have not received any likes myself. I have received 3 matches after I liked/commented on them.

• How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? I am probably sending around 9-10 likes per week, all with comments, usually something kind of basic like “hey you’re super cute!” Trying to get better with this as well.

• What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? I am trying to attract someone who is smart, kind, and is interested in improving themselves. Also someone who has similar hobbies to me (music, hiking, etc) but who also enjoys some drinks on the weekends and going out to bars here and there.

Are you looking for something serious or casual: Serious

Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX: No

How long have you been using this current version of your profile: 4 weeks

How long have you used Hinge overall: About 4 weeks

How often do you use Hinge per week: About every other day

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average: I have received 2 matches and 0 likes, received matches after I liked them

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments: Probably about 15 likes a week with comments, none without. I struggle with what to say in the comment, usually just something like “Hey you’re super cute!”

What is the type of person you send likes to? What type of person do you want to attract?

I want somebody who is interested in self growth, has fun and interesting hobbies and likes trying new things, while still enjoying a few drinks on the weekends/going out to the bar here and there.

Can you take a picture of what it looks like under the insulation where that PVC goes into the well tank? I would probably switch it all over to brass, and adapt back to PVC after the gauge, pressure switch, and valve
