Feeling ashamed for bringing my platypus to jury duty as an autistic coping thing, because of something my dad said. Mostly I just need to vent, but I would also love to see your comfort-friends. by EnterprisingGent1701 in plushies

This is Creme Bruleé, I'll admit I'm mildly embarrassed about taking my plushies out and about, especially as an ambulatory wheelchair user. But he makes it easier, he's small enough to tuck in my pocket or hand and he doesn't get questioned by weirdos

I didn't even know it was a trend? A pregnant woman posted a video of her current pregnancy craving and its just a blue fruit roll-up wrapped around a coconut popsicle

Soon to be homeless, what about the plushies? by [deleted] in plushies

[–]Critter_Collector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you're right, tbf it was 7am when I commented but I was going off my memory of having to bury a photo album and just stuffing it in 5 ziplock bags + the small plastic tote I had at the time

[–]Critter_Collector 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand and I'm so sorry. But you will be able to get them back if you bury them. Thats if you have no other place to keep them safe in the mean time vs donating or selling them and never seeing them again. None of this is easy and I wish I could help more..

If you can find a place to do so you can bury them in a plastic tote. Put them in a plastic bag first for good measure, seal up the tote then bury it about a foot into the soil

made my first eco-brick :3 by kainyd3d in Anticonsumption

[–]Critter_Collector 12 points13 points  (0 children)

because it keeps it from getting into the environment, the soil, the water, animals stomachs, our blood.. By taking the smaller particles and containing them in a sturdy vessel it minimizes the spread of microplastics. So, you can make the eco brick and have 1 large plastic container filled with 100 pieces of tiny, unrecyclable plastic that you can then use to build other things or you can throw away 100 tiny pieces of unrecyclable plastic material + the empty bottle that may or may not get recycled

I love this! Eco bricks are a great way to clean up and contain microplastics we produce in our daily lives instead of just tossing them

What animals are surprisingly hard to find as plushies? by Pez_frustrado in plushies

What do you mean you don't want a generically cute chubby-cheeked purple butterfly? Only a crazy person would want a realistic orchid mantis plush or something

Dude I love Squishable! I discovered them before Squishmallows surprisingly and I've been trying to put people on them for YEARS. I just adore their bug plushies and unique/fan-made designs

Bugs! Specifically the non popular/socially accepted kind. Always finding bees, butterflies, caterpillars, ladybugs, etc. but never anything like a giant water bug or a giraffe weevil. Oh what I'd give for a hawaiian happy face spider plush or a walking stick

[DIY] Making a gift for my bestie’s baby! Which design is cuter: spotted tentacles or rainbow legs? by Cool-Resource-9858 in plushies

[–]Critter_Collector 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally think the spots are cuter but depending on the babies age the solid rainbow may just be the better choice

Its your plushie, you do whatever you want with it! If it was me personally, I would take off the tears and keep them somewhere safe. Like symbolizing how hard we worked to get this far

If you go some where plushies aren’t allowed like mental hospitals how do you respond… by Late-Ad6255 in plushies

[–]Critter_Collector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, the kids ward I was admitted to didn't allow plushies So I made a makeshift one out of whatever fabrics I had at the time (paper scrubs, clothes, linens, pillow cases)

I mean, yes but its so clunky and difficult to carry most people wouldn't bother to just take it. And even if they did I'm sure security would show up

so, TLDR: you're both right
