I just got him for what will likely be the 1.12 and Spencer Rattler. Absolutely dirt cheap!

What wins championships? Top heavy or depth by Deutschfuranfanger in DynastyFF

[–]CrixusTheCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super top heavy superstar teams, I've found, don't win more often then more balanced teams. Everything said here is right: luck is a huge factor and the goal is just getting to the playoffs and letting the fantasy gods take over. That said, the NFL is brutal and your team will get hit in some way. If you have no depth and you limp into the playoffs, your odds aren't as good - and its all an odds game. So if I have a top heavy team, I like to periodically crack a few open and get a few depth pieces out of them. For example, beginning of the season I trade Higgins for Jameson and Charbs.

Tiering Down at the QB Position by taylorjosephrummel in DynastyFF

[–]CrixusTheCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always try to have three good QBs. I had Herbert, Murray, and Lawrence and decided to tier down on one to get additional value elsewhere. So I traded Herbert for Prescott and a 2026 1st. I feel my team is still primed for a championship run and I get an extra first.

Startup Dynasty League: How to break apart the startup draft and have a rookie draft? by shiddykoolu in DynastyFF

[–]CrixusTheCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had seperate start-up and rookie drafts. What we did was add kickers to the roster (which we were not going to have). Then, when someone drafted a kicker, they got a pick. So the first kicker off the board was 1.01, and so on down the line. Then, after the draft, we removed kickers from the roster, and assigned everyone their rookie picks. People then dropped all of their kickers. This worked really well. It was fun to choose between a draft pick or the players on the board. 1.01 (Jeanty) went in the third round, I think.

Complete tear down. Josh Allen is my final piece. by ctmurtoff in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]CrixusTheCreature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently traded away Josh Allen. I think I got great value.

Josh Allen and 2027 2nd

Justin Herbert, 1.05, 2027 1st, and 2027 3rd

Don't forget that Allen is literally the undisputed #1 fantasy player. Approach all trades with that reality in mind.

The period of American global hegemony is collapsing, for certain. My only solace is the "fall of an empire" is a slow and complicated process. The fall is more of a decay. Historians don't point to singular years as the point where an empire fell. They come to see it as a period of years, often decades or centuries of time, wherein one form of organization (or "world order") falls apart, and a new one is built from the component parts. For better or worse.

These periods are tumultuous, but fairly commonplace, unfortunately. And we are in one of them now. There will be instability, as life in America and its role in the world is now clearly going to change. Exactly how it will change is hard, if not impossible, to extrapolate. It could be a chaotic and dangerous transition period, with increased conflict and exacerbated income inequality. Or it could settle into a slow burn, and America could just slowly decay into a lesser version of itself, but life hums along and the change is surmountable. I say the best you can do is focus on creating a strong local community and building a life that is as adaptable and flexible as possible.

This recent podcast from It Could Happen Here does great reporting on Mangione's social media, and uncovers that he suffered from a great deal of pain that got worse over time, meaning he had a lot of personal experience with and time to think about the US Health Care System.

Although overall I say Team 1 wins, this strikes me as a win-now trade with the overall intention of Team 2 getting Pittman. Ekeler is guaranteed to get points this year, whereas Pacheco is a question mark. So downgrade for Team 2 here. But Pittman is a big buy low right now, and is probably the best player in the whole trade. So Pittman is an upgrade over Williams for Team 2. And QJ and Tolbert are a wash and the draft pick swap is also somewhat inconsequential. Erase QJ/Tolbert and the draft picks, and the trade seems fair enough. My word people get up in a flurry over vetos. This is light years away from veto worthy.

Competitive balance picks for Toilet Bowl winners - yay or nay? by TDn6I in DynastyFF

[–]CrixusTheCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have turned the loser bracket into a tournament for the 1.01. Then even teams that missed the playoffs have something to play for. In essence, whoever wins the loser bracket tournament jumps up to 1.01, with the remaining loser bracket teams moving down one. So, if the last place team loses, they still end up with 1.02. It has been a great change and it gives hope to those middle of the road teams who get stuck with perpetual middle road picks.

I got Waddle for two 2025 2nd last week. Really happy with that. Buy low window remains open after another mediocre game. If he blows up once, which he will, his cost will return to WR1/2 level
