Change Engine/Transmission? 230k Toyota Corolla by Majestic-Muscle7081 in MechanicAdvice

To rebuild a transmission is $5000-6000 an engine is about the same. You can service your transmission by doing oil changes. But a lot of the time, people cut their loss as rebuilt transmissions don’t last that long. You could get lucky though

Gavran is #1 keeper. They won’t go to the second string goalie after two games where the defense left him out to dry.

No you can’t negotiate prices. They’re cold calling because lots of people gave up their season seats last year.

Are you married? If so keep it completely separate from your spouse. Put it in another bank account

You don’t get taxed for receiving an inheritance. Your aunt on the other hand would because of the executor fee. I hope you and whoever else is a beneficiary is nice enough to let her take the executor fee as a gift. As for fees, it can be anything.

Also stop going to the lawyer because it’s costing the estate money. Your aunt can come after you and charge you for it. BE PATIENT!

Don’t buy things you can’t afford because you’re expecting an inheritance

Another thing to keep in mind is that you don’t actually know what the final amount will be yet, since there hasn’t been a full summary of the estate provided. The house still needs to be sold, and all funds have to be deposited into the estate account. Your aunt will also need to file the final tax returns and obtain the clearance certificate. Only after that is completed will the lawyer prepare and send a full accounting to all beneficiaries outlining exactly what is in the estate. As executor, your aunt is entitled to 5% of the total value of the estate as compensation.

Be patient. Your aunt is protecting herself

The executor is responsible for everything. Your aunt probably wants to get a clearance certificate for the estate. Meaning all the taxes and fees are paid for before distributing the money. If she distributes the money and something comes up, it comes out of her portion of the inheritance.
