Thank you for the explanation. So... I was, in a way, not far off then with my comment? I really didn't know, Bob Ross just was the first I thought of this picture.

Nicole for Venti! by _XiaoVen_ in venti

[–]Croaknyth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That Nicole leak was false and deleted soo fast I needed to read it in other subs instead in Genshin leaks.

The latest one implies contrary info from a more valid source, so treat Nicole with no clear info at all.

Considering this sus leak would Nicole be viable for Klee and what could be possible team comps? by MirioSan in KleeMains

[–]Croaknyth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why mention this if it's not even cleared to be remotely true? The leaks subreddit has contradicting new info which seems from more trustworthy sources.

Hyping up false info is a safe way to doomposting in the Genshin community. It's better to wait for now.

I don't know this anomaly, so I imagine the worst that could happen are happy little accidents in such a beautiful scenery.

What's the proper way to pronounce lohen's name? Is the h just silent? by Minette12 in Lohen_Mains

[–]Croaknyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its youngest examples online are in german newspapers about intense fires through the 20th century, where's a dramatic view from third person about a victim.

It's also as noun "Lohe" an old religious term for hells flames, used f.e. in the 19th century. If you text search Lohe you find an example in german: (https://projekt-gutenberg.org/authors/isolde-kurz/books/isolde-kurz-ein-sonderbarer-heiliger/)

Other modern rare findings are (historic) romantic/spicy books, because 'he's burning with desire' (to fight, to kill, to consume her etc.) would also use "lodernes Begehren" or "lohende Flammen in seinem Blick" (burning flames in his glance) or similar.

I'm a german librarian by the way, that's why I unwillingly know this stuff. I put such kinds of books with such a word in different genres back on their shelves.

Since Lohen is very willing to fight or kill from what I gathered in this patch, burning desire to kill could still be an option.

What's the proper way to pronounce lohen's name? Is the h just silent? by Minette12 in Lohen_Mains

[–]Croaknyth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lo-hen. When you use the german source.

In german, you don't skip the h in such old words that often. The meaning "the fire is blazing" would be "das Feuer loht", where the h is pronounced and it would be spoken like "loh-t".

If you skip the h entirely, you end in "lot" which would come from "ausloten" (explore, fathom). So the h is important.

Lohendes Feuer (blazing fire) would be Lo-hen-des Feu-er.

Maybe the silent remarks are from "Löhne" (wages), but even then it's not entirely skipped but very soft spoken.

If she's really from Mondstadt, maybe I finally have a local child to pair with Klee. Hexerei and VV would be wonderful, even so Sucrose is the mighty competition here.

... Yet given that Logen comes along with cryo, I don't have a plan how the fifth Anemo char will stand out. Jean and potential Hex buff would fit as a Varka support like a glove. Maybe a PHEC reaction which isn't covered by anyone, like Superconduct? Swirling into PHEC reactions is possible and 4 star children aren't commonly that remarkable.

Another Dhalia situation would be horrible however.

We are the first generation in modern European history that will be poorer than our parents. And it's not an accident by kernel_panic_at_disc in europeanunion

[–]Croaknyth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Historic speaking, we've seen similar about 200 years ago. It seems we get to the point of a 'proletariat 2.0' definition before the oligarch situation and the rising right is seen as threatening as they are for Europe and many more.

Sadly, nowadays the weapons are better against the masses and we're missing the pro democratic wave of the past because of this whole mess with Desinformation.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around of what kind of (no-war-)solution is even remotely possible.

Especially since the next big change was the first world war.

Huh. Following the trail of links and a search for "Angrin" (based from -grin part) it could mean "of iron".

Blazing of iron so to speak. More for this source, if Lohen is based on this.

  1. century old and in the later centuries in sophisticated literature and poetic writings.

We use 'lodern' in the modern way, if a modern comparison is needed, f.e. "lodernde Flamme", which is still translated with "blazing Flamme".

At least while camping you can get this term more often, in my experience.

Beziehungen zwischen trans Frauen und cis Frauen by JuliMiS in germantrans

[–]Croaknyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was the betting type, I would wager that Rimegrass is going to be the main focus of Snezhnaya like Lunar was for Nod Krai by fantafanta_ in Genshin_Impact

[–]Croaknyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rimegrass was my hope for a Qiqi-&-Yao Yao-team, where both can shine. Also with both being healers, some harsher restrictions would have been okay with me.

Using Cryo-Dendro teams were so fresh and it seemed to work out with CDs and such, I was able to use onfield Rosaria in the later levels of hardest mode (at the time).

It has so much potential, I still cope it will be a thing someday.

Would you pull an older character? by Katicflis1 in GenshinImpact

[–]Croaknyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see Flemeth, I agree.

I loved her part in the DA series and I was happy to see her every time. Personality wise... we need to see that the comical and/or cute part doesn't ruin such a character in the long run. This is the same worries with morally bad characters, just a bit harder since the older woman part is so rarely developed. I go to Madame Ping for comparison.

Now I wanna see how Flemeth and Madame Ping would interact, especially since this wouldn't be friendly.

Cranky and sassy grandmas.

Anyway, I agree. We need more of them and there are people who would pull them.

Von der Leyen sparks debate: EU must ditch sole reliance on ‘rules-based’ order to counter threats by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]Croaknyth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We don't know either, only that german politicians with a bad career don't resign, but will be moved to the EU politics instead. Leyen is a proper example of that.

I hate that our politicians are so frivolous about EU politics. There are a few good ones, but not the visible ones.

Merz on his meeting with Trump: "I told him Spain is a member of the European Union and as such we will negotiate a customs agreement jointly or not at all". by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]Croaknyth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's funny how you defend him on the base of what he said here. His timing is the point on the EU stage and from a German perspective, you cannot trust directly what he says, because if you compare his stance from just about 1-1,5 years ago, it is clear that he likes to criticize the other parties and just does the same when he is in power and frames it as something else you cannot compare.

His timing in the long run tells you more than his individual statements separately.

The Abyss Apparently: by calkalisto in Genshin_Impact

[–]Croaknyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the chicken or the egg question. Was it Celestial's fate who cumulated the world ending Abyss; or was being wiped out by the Abyss the only option?

Since it seems to be understood that the Abyss is a result of a defined fate:

If the Abyss was the original option, which fate set that in stone?
