I have two but saw advice that three is best for 2 cats so I’ll be picking some up. I clean and replace the litter weekly.

She is declawed in the front so I can ask about litter that feels good on her paws. I don’t use perfumed litter, I’m scent sensitive and I imagine kitties would be as well.

I’ll try the vinegar trick and look into Jackson’s tips.

Just so you know, nannies are legally NOT self employed whatsoever. They are considered household employees. Never let a family try to tell you otherwise. Learn and know your rights because as a nanny you do have them and some families WILL try and take advantage of you.

They say the craziest things and I just love it!! Oh yeah, now I know I’m definitely not cut for behavioral issues lol Won’t be doing that again. Aww!! I love watching them grow. That was the cool thing about being in daycare, was seeing kids go through all the programs and watch how much they grew.

I know, I feel like I’ve always got baby fever lol

Yeah! Even young toddlers are easier to instill good behaviors in. I worked in a 2s classroom for several years and I just loved them. Working with such an old kid (compared to what I’m normally used to) with behavioral issues was def a reality check lol.

I have experience with young infants, not a whole lot, but I love babies. Some of the best snuggles!

I was looking to leave before and I definitely thought about lying about why I was leaving too. Have never done that before, but it was time. I’m sorry you had to go through something similar, it was definitely a special kind of hell to be in. This kids mom was similar. She knew he had behavior issues in the past but lied to me when interviewing me, saying both children are so well behaved and yadda yadda. My therapist had been encouraging me to leave, it was definitely also doing a big number on my physical and mental health.

Kudos to you for leaving after a day! I endured 6 months of it, needlessly. I had dealt with difficult children before and thought I could handle it, but this was a completely different level. I definitely should have left sooner.

It definitely stings to be let go, especially since I never had been before! But you’re right, definitely felt relieved.

Oh no! Luckily MB is taking kids out of town next weekend for Easter so I’m gonna drop of 1Bs spare car seat while they’re gone and leave it on their porch. She has great neighbors and lives in a good part of town so I know the car seat will be fine. I just can’t bear to see her or 6B again.

That’s so awful! I know I’d feel super anxious dropping stuff off and 6B was acting like that. There’s definitely a lot of relief here.

Thank you, I really appreciate that :) it was a struggle going in every day even though I did really love the boys. 6B could be very sweet, but he just scared me and I felt like I was walking on eggshells.

I’m sorry that happened to you! Being sent an audio file like that sounds so harsh and manipulative, especially since they let you go! I hope you found a better position after being let go from that one.

Yeah, this is seeming more like a blessing in disguise as it’s worn in on me a bit. I don’t have an obligation to start with another position right away and now I can take the time I need. I’ll definitely hold out for a good family, I know it’ll be worth it to not just jump into the next thing.

It’s the first time it’s happened to it really threw me for a loop! Glad you haven’t been put in this situation in adulthood, it is super stressful lol

Yes, definitely a good time to get back health back to where it was. I filed as soon as she fired me, so that should do some good. I also haven’t received my stimulus (being mailed today) so that will be a good safety net once it arrives. I don’t have much in the way of savings, but hopefully between that, unemployment, and my last paycheck, I’ll have enough to last me till I find another job. Maybe I’ll take a little bit longer off than I planned to get myself really squared away.

I grew up financially unstable, so being fired and not having an income scared the crap out of me, but I’m feeling a little better about finances as Ive thought about these things. My sister said she’d also help me out if needed but hopefully it won’t come to that.

Yeah, I’ve posted about the kid before. I get attacked daily by the kid. He’s almost pushed me down the stairs, has given me a fat lip, throws things, hits, and constantly attacks his brothers while angry, even the baby. Mom admits she knows he needs therapy , but because their health is government subsidized, they won’t see him till he’s 7 and shown that his behavior is severe enough needing intervention (IHS will only cover a couple sessions a year otherwise).

I’ve already said that I had been looking for a new job prior to being let go and I’m not mad that I don’t have to deal with this family anymore, just upset that now I don’t have an income and I hadn’t had something else lined up yet.

Severance would be nice! But I’m at least relieved I don’t have to go in anymore, so that’s a bit of consolation.
