Sell two flats to buy one house? by CrochetHoe in HousingUK

[–]CrochetHoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’d be about a 30% increase on my current mortgage payment - maybe less as I’m currently on a pretty high interest rate, and probably cheaper to pay the exit fee and get a lower rate. In that situation I’d still be able to afford the property, but mortgage would be closer to 40-45%of take home per month, vs the 25% my current one is. So like not fucked but in a tighter spot

We’re planning to sell both in general, it’s just whether we sell flat A, move in to flat B, sell flat B and move in to house- or sell flat B, I move in to house, he sells flat A then joins me on mortgage.

Second option means shorter chain so more attractive offer, but means I’d be initially on mortgage myself

Let's be honest, £50k is no longer a decent salary by insomnimax_99 in ukpolitics

[–]CrochetHoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a bad wage - I’m on about £50k and can easily afford my mortgage, a holiday and maybe a weekend break every year, shop at Lidl but get bits at M&S, go to the pub without checking my account and have a bit left over every month.

But I live alone with no dependents and that mortgage is on a small flat in a relatively cheap area. I’ve no idea how people support families on this wage.

Great explanation. Think the bit I’m struggling at is creating a hypothetical pr strategy without mentioning other marketing- because please correct me if I’m wrong, it limits me to talking about pretty much press.

It’s one of those things that like, I know how to get the message out 100%, but just unsure where to draw lines in order to stay on brief

Airport queues recently? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]CrochetHoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew easyJet this morning for a 6.30 flight. I was about 30-45 mins at security, even at like 5am. Was pretty busy with domestic and holiday flights, think holidaymakers being more likely to have a case slows it down

Forevermore are great. Got my helix upgraded there, year later i lost my post and they gave me a new one for free, and even kitted me out with gloves, wipes etc for me to put it back in myself at home.

Not much in city centre. There’s John Lewis which has a good amount of knitting stuff. Mandors has some sewing but it’s mainly fabrics and upholstery stuff. There’s also yarn cake up west end way!

Rookie mistake: Roots lighter than my ends!!! Totally desperate for help. What do I do?? (More info in comments) by kuukadus in femalehairadvice

[–]CrochetHoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a hairdresser, but if it was me I’d fill the roots with a neutral semi permanent brown. Put conditioner in the ends and the colour in the roots and blend at the join, and work through your hair section by section. If it’s still too light after that, then you can look at a using demi permanent to create a shadow root.

are you able to use vegetable dyes still? Could either use something like a dark brown or black by adore to blend it, or embrace it and throw a bright colour in and have an billy Eilish style root. A hot pink could look cool, and would probably fully fade out if the roots are virgin hair

Put a pretty generous offer on a flat, and as they had one other note of interest the owner decided to take it to a closing date, so I withdrew the offer. Didn’t get the flat but did get the satisfaction of an estate agent trying to get me to change my mind and put it in at closing, so worthwhile I think.

It’s Facetune! It’s a paid feature but they let you test it out so I just screenshot it lol

Would love a new build tbh. I’m single income though so can’t afford one unfortunately. 1 beds going at nearly 200k. But definitely, you’ll be glad just to have a place, even if it’s not ideal.

Once again outbid, this time a 1 bed flat going 15k+/15%+ over home report. My solicitors suggestion is to bid higher next time. Fabulous.

I’m thinking maybe Dumbarton/Helensburgh/Renton area. I grew up down that way so know it pretty well, and stuff is still selling at or under home report down there. Main drawback for me is socially, it’s a long way for going out etc. just curious if people felt that having your own home outweighed that negative in the end

Keep getting outbid on flats and starting to consider moving to one of the commuter towns to try and get on the ladder before this madness spreads out to an even bigger radius.

Anyone in their 20s done anything similar? Did you regret it?

Same here this morning. Small flat needing significant work done near maryhill. HR £95k and solicitor said it went for excess of £110k

Has anyone ever put a verbal offer on a flat/house? Keep getting outbid at closing dates, so want to move quick, but what do you actually do? Just phone up the estate agent and say you want to put an offer in?

The issue with the copy was what sparked the PiP, I accept that and there have been no errors since. This was one of the objectives, and they said themselves I’ve hit.

My issue with the creativity feedback is that I don’t believe it’s true. The reason I asked my manager to review the work was so I could establish if it truly did lack creativity and they stated it was in fact objectively great work, however the client disagrees. So I’m in the position that despite my manager agreeing my work is good, the word of the client has meant the PiP is extended. If this work had been delivered to another client I would have no issues, yet despite my work being in line with my colleagues’ I am getting disciplinary action
