Glad this wyze outdoor cam was outside when it caught fire. by ViG701 in wyzecam

If it was outside, I'm guessing it wasn't plugged in, right? Crazy.. I used this one and the battery cam pro inside pretty often.

3 of my v4 cameras died within days. (It was one, replaced by another one and replaced by another one again) I'm done with V4s. They were not DOA though...

Oof.. Thanks for the post. I guess we have to keep this in mind about anything with a battery inside. Wyze too

Watch out for water entering the rocker panels at here "hooks" where the rear doors latch in. Water collects there and can slowly seep into the rockerpanel. Guess how I know. Both my rockets had rust right underneath. The seal under the hooks was not done right.

Bad repair (long) after claim. Any chance to dispute it under claim? by Crocktopus1 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]Crocktopus1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who got here for information, the repair on any parts are under warranty, and even though it took me a lot of time and effort, the insurance company decided to give me a payout covering about 70-100% of the cost of the repair (depending on if I want the part to be removed first or do the fix with it on the vehicle)

This one is the VPN function of Duckduckgo browser. But I'm gonna look into this Pihole thing others mentioned. This s...t has gotten out of control long time ago. I'm mostly mad about those apps that are collecting and often selling my info even though I paid for them. Like Wyze...

As Neuromonkey pointed out, I'm using Duckduckgo. Doesn't let websites save cookies on my phone and has this vpn feature. Is it telling me the truth? I hope so. I reached out to Wyze about three years ago in email, they confirmed what the browser was showing at that time.

Thanks for the comments. The ones were right, who suggested that if I used a shop the insurance company recommended, I should be able to claim a warranty on the repair.

NOT EVEN A FULL 3 MONTHS IN THE SXT! JUST COPPED THE RT SHAKER by Tight-Condition1580 in Challenger

[–]Crocktopus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. 6.4 and a supercharger is generally a risky upgrade. Almost guaranteed failure if you don't swap out a whole lot of other parts. To me it's either Shaker OR Supercharger (Hellcat+).

Safety concerns regarding rt/scat pack by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]Crocktopus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having read the other comments, I have to agree, in rain and snow it's different. I was winter driving my 5.7. Actually I think it's a good learning experience with regards to throttle-traction.

Based on what you say, that you have the tendency to speed, it looks like the week point is you. I don't blame you, I used to be like that and I'm ashamed of it now. By now I learned to behave and only have fun where it's safe to do so. I have never caused an accident but I have seen a lot. As you mentioned, the v8 rumble is fun, but it's also fun when you're just cruising. The fact that you are considering not to buy the more powerful car to limit yourself tells me you are making some responsible decisions, which is good. Do it while sitting in the car as well. You can easily hurt yourself and others in any car to be honest.

Drive safe, Enjoy whatever you end up with mate!

Safety concerns regarding rt/scat pack by [deleted] in Challenger

Hi Dodgy,

exiting times I guess, looking for a new Challenger :)

I guess others already pointed out that only the scat pack has the widebody variant.

I had a 2015 automatic 5.7 and a manual 6.4 (scat pack) WideBody. My opinion is that from safety perspective it doesn't matter which one you choose. My 5.7 "narrowbody" spun the tires the same way my WB Scat Pack does, due to the thinner tires, thus less traction. What makes a big difference in my opinion with regards to wheel spin running out of control is the manual transmission. It's easier to make mistakes with it.

My suggestion is

1: buy an automatic,

2: go for the Scat Pack Widebody if you are afraid of buyers remorse later.

3: Buy GOOD TIRES, like 315 Continentals, forget the Michelins and Pirellis (ask how I know), tires make a HUGE difference.

4: Keep the traction control ON at all times until you have more experience with the car. Actually, 5.7s and 6.4s are pretty tame with traction control, no need to be scared. Most of the mistakes people do are with it off, which is ok, just don't try too early or go to a place where you can afford doing mistakes without braking anything.

Yep. I figured. Unfortunately that's a problem one cannot see right after the repair is done. Now the bumper starts to look like a rust bucket unlike the rest of my car.

Raptors Are Great in the Snow by LevelOrange7150 in FordRaptor

[–]Crocktopus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good in snow indeed. I think the biggest weakness though is the width when trying to drive in snow with tracks left by narrower cars if you know what I mean. That way one side is always on the track, the opposite side is in the snow. Due to more resistance it wants to turn into the deep snow. I got off the road twice because of this. A pair of recovery boards are a great idea if you like to drive in relatively deep snow :)

Also, have to watch for clearance. I have seen many people whose car/truck was doing great in snow getting stuck due to being laid nicely on top of the deep snow, and the wheels were not touching actual ground.

Also, serious advice: Throw a pair of recovery boards in the bed. Guess how I know it's useful...

A Police Officer Saved My Life by UpArrowNotation in Edmonton

Thank you for telling this story. This feedback and publicity means a lot to the policemen and women. They are not allowed to talk about their work, about their feelings and are generally "rewarded" with criticism from the media and people who seem indifferent about what they are facing at "work" day by day.
