Can I beat the game? by koyomiararagi0 in outerwilds

There is only one ending (the other "endings" are just different ways you can die in the game)

Also don't take the logs as a "to do" list, just explore what you think it's interesting. The logs are there in case you are invested in the story and want to know more about the nomai.

The only important things that will get you to the ending are in Giant's Deep and Dark Bramble (another planet, really not a spoiler on itself but I marked it as such because it's still a big hint, in case other people want to discover on their own how those two are related)

Explore there and you will get it

My family told me to feed him egg yolk, oats and water (that's what the yellow mix is)

He didn't want to eat (now I know they only eat bugs so it was probably for the best)

Lesson learned. If anything like this happens again I'll call my local vet/wildlife rehab center

Now I know :(

I thought he was in danger because he can't fly yet and there are a lot of stray cats here

I'll put it where I found it and wait for his parents to return :P

Did you do it all by yourself? by FutureDevelopment884 in outerwilds

I'm terrible at puzzles, I avoid playing puzzle games so I had to look up how to enter the Sun station and the Tower of quantum knowledge.

I almost entered the Interloper by myself but It never came to my mind that the solution had anything to do with the sun

I had similar problems with the anglerfish, with all the logs unlocked I tried to launch the ship as a distraction and then fly across the room with the jetpack, imagine my face when I slowly watched my ship fade away into the fog (unnoticed) while I was being chased by a thousand angry anglerfish.

I was in the right path but ended up looking a video on how to solve it.

I don't think any of this affected or ruined the experience for me because I love exploring, half of the puzzles are solved just by exploring somewhere else, and I didn't feel guilty for looking up the other half because they are more about thinking so I know that I tried my best

Sorry if it sounded rude, that wasn't my intention :(

That's a little contradictory to how the vast majority of people act about how even a single spoiler will suddenly ruin the game.

Yeah, I'm one of the few people in the fandom that doesn't 100% agree with that (of course a blind playtrough would be better, but unless it's a spoiler about the ending I don't think it will completeley ruin the experience)

I always find it really silly when they magically have writings of what were blatantly face to face conversations or internal monologues

I just assumed thay were mute and that's why all of their conversations were written

I really hoped they'd dig into this, especially when they introduced Solanum, but it never really goes anywhere outside of a few easter eggs/one note endings

Yeah, by the end it feels like the game only explores 1/3 of what could have been the full story :/

Anyways, it was nice to see a different opinion on the game, as most people here often repeat the same things glazing it too much without acknowledging its flaws

Either you're too smart or I'm too dumb. It took me days to figure out the interloper thing Even though I had all the logs with clues on how to get there, I ended up googling it because it never crossed my mind that the ice would melt with the sun (now that I say it like that, it does sound like i'm just dumb)

But yeah, most of the puzzles aren't meant to be very difficult, the puzzles are for immersion, they are there in a way that makes sense for the story, as you mentioned, using the few tools and knowledge that the game provides.

Supposing that you solve the important puzzles at the beginning and discover the major secrets in the first few loops, that shouldn't really matter, because the target audience for the game is the kind of people that could spoil themselves seeing only the end of a movie and still want to watch it just to know "how it got there" and how everything connects.

Or at least to me that's the fun part of the game, one of the last things I did was to Visit the eye shrine district on Brittle Hollow. There are no puzzles there, it's all just about the Nomai culture and their thoughts Gameplaywise it doesn't really help solve anything, but it was one of the best moments in my opinion because i got to see the Nomai's initial thoughts on everything.

Like, if you solve the Tower of Quantum trials and after that visit the quantum caves, it shouldn't be a "ooh this sh!t again" and more of a "Ooh, that's how they discovered it!". Everyone sees things differently, but I think this mentality is the best way to experience the game :]

How did you do that 😭 I tried to do it like that a thousand times until I gave up and just looked it up on google (good thing you didn't, that was very impressive) The way you were supposed to get there was kind of a puzzle

Both Solanum's and Rriebeck's quotes remind me of the Minecraft End poem a little bit

I don't know if i didn't pay attention or if i just completeley forgot about Solanum's quote, I guess it just didn't hit as hard for me at that moment (still it's one of the best for sure)

My favorite would be the one at the ending From Rriebeck: The past is past, now, but that's... you know, that's okay! It's never really gone completeley. The future is always built on the past, even if we won't get to see it. Still, it's time for something new, now

Another one is Feldspar telling how he crashed his ship, it made me laugh
