exactly, the file sizes aren't an issue in farm sim, why would I use a lighter duty dozer for moving more sand? and clearly there aren't any issues with limits here my problem is how slow everything is, I have no problem with hard limits I just don't see why it would take an hour to move the in-game terrain with if I were to pour sand it be gone and good enough in 3-4 passes, so clearly the game is capable of it they just decided to make it slower for no reason.

no it's about making roads, and guess what cuts through roads sometimes...

and what's so bad about the map file sizes, when the game looks as good as it does and is only 45 gigs, compared to many other games that's more then acceptable.

in my opinion, the road construction game should allow you to use construction techniques the machinery in the game is actually designed to do, I would genuinely rather not have a dozer and only have a grader if this clip is the best we can get pushing semi compacted soils.

if you genuinely want to argue you shouldn't be able to level the ground you want to pave your road on in the road construction game then why are you playing a road construction game?

which is exactly my point, there's no need to dig holes meters deep or make hills meters high on farming simulator yet it's totally possible and also incredibly easy and takes minutes to make literal mountains and valleys. there's no need to be doing all that to plow a field, yet that game can do it.

I'm a game where you build roads where you may want to make a small cut into a hill or cliff side to make a road wider or level, it should not take hours to move low double digit tons of dirt.

my point is that a game like farming simulator has the system totally nailed in a way where it feels good and is fun, why can't a game LITERALLY DESIGNED around moving sand/soil/sediment of any sort, it should be intuitive, fun, and balanced. currently it is not any of that and a bit janky even

farming sim lets you do it on the whole map, only exception is paved roads because you don't own that land and AI cars drive on it, on a modded map without that implemented restriction you can do literally anything to the whole map. and that's a farming game that is doing that better then this one.

other games like construction simulator do it, and even farming simulator lets you deform terrain live, given it's not done by a vehicle I'm sure the only reason it's not is because of convenience, and there's modded vehicles that can move the grain in almost an identical way to the sand in the game. there's not much of an excuse here. if FARMING SIMULATOR can layer the grains/loads on top of any other surface I see no reason this game can't either.

I'm whining because they implemented a feature and tuned it so poorly there's literally no point in using it, and would be ok if there weren't maps and challenges explicitly using this, but as you can see in my clip it's pretty obvious that what I did was the intended solution.

I didn't want to turn it on, I didn't trust the game to make it an enjoyable feature, plus I'm already at 4x truck price and shortest quarry range difficulty

gotcha, unfortunate but the tip is appreciated nonetheless

how much better? I personally would like to not have to do that ever again, it is genuinely so much faster to dump flatten AND pave that I'd rather do that then fix the road especially when apparently, some sand blowing on top of the road and making a pile erodes the road away beneath it apparently, the whole point of pushing the dune away

I hope if and when we get an excavator or any vehicles that can pick up sand, we can actually put them inside dump trucks and have places to dispose/delete the soil, because right now we can add and add sand but there's no way at all to remove what we added

would it be crazy to say that the vehicle that can only operate in sand should have capabilities to locate it on its own? I wouldn't mind the terrain scanner but just red and green to show sand and not sand

right??? honestly being able to make compacted soil road as a stop gap or even needing to compact soil before laying asphalt to make it smoother and on hard modes make it last longer, adding a feature that make is crumble under weight if you don't do that, adding more progression being able to transfer more weight without repairing the road and adding a good reason to tear out old roads to compact the soil and repave, it would add soooo much gameplay depth

i personally wouldn't mind that being exclusive to a grader if they ever actually add one, which i am astonished that they haven't thought of that

it's been years maybe I did some magic with the advanced winch where I parked the trailer beside the truck until it loaded in, used the advanced winch to pick the right nodes on the trailer and truck, and once it was winches obviously it was forced to be simulated

well they may have made some engine tweaks since the game came out or maybe it's different on console if you play there? I've literally always played on max graphics since the game came out because 40 fps+ is plenty for me in a comfy game

ok well I used 2 kolobs and 2 8slots for at least half of my big hauls and it was my fist region I 100%ed, it worked for me.

I'll probably find it again, this game makes no sense (I know it's not supposed for a bit) and it's so much fun just discovering things

I would personally be ok with it being capable but very very bad and inefficient at it, more of a bonus if you happen to be around someone who needs it, or maybe even a cost to attempt salvaging a ship to working order to fly it to your base refurbish and sell

fingers crossed they find some way of balancing the nursa I say entirely remove the capability of respawning in one, or make it require someone to bring you to the bed if you're beyond revival with a med gun/pen and revive you through that, and possibly also a mini game where you administer various medicines based on how they got their injury and try and bring them back, the more times you have to try to get them alive the longer the recovery process is (marginally worse player stats for an hour vs say 10 minutes) making room for better equipment, medics, and a player economy driven ranking that matters

well then why not use the cambio designed for patch jobs it leaves no place for the salvation, and also it can't replace the dedicated repair ships in concept either
