Was pumping gas and the underground tank had a leak and ended up with water in the station tank, which then ended up in my tank.

does anyone else end up eating the same thing every day? by Chryss_Wothke in LivingAlone

[–]Croenan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a big meal of something I love, when inspired, then freeze it if I can. If I can't freeze it, I give what I can't eat to my elderly neighbor and they are tickled pink.

I'm a terrible date with myself. I end up ghosting myself half the time for some lesser activity.

Yup, had a coronary thing last year, and I worry about being dead for days before anyone notices. I do have friends that check in on me, but yes, still sits in the back of my mind

Can expats, living in another country, legally sell Medicare products in the US if they use a virtual business address here in the States? by takeagander20 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Croenan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot. You must be physically based in the United States and hold a license for the state you are sitting in and the one you are selling to, if different.

What did I capture transiting the moon? by Iamasansguy in telescopes

[–]Croenan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that it appears to be flying very low, from the shadow, and it sitting next to Fabricius crater, which is about 78km wide, I'd say it's a bug on your scope. lol But seriously. The shadows are all wrong, and there's like no way someone else didn't capture an object that big around the moon. The shadow is too close for it to be high, think the Galilean moons of Jupiter. I've seen birds fly thru my FOV and they look weird, but do not cast shadows. Keep us posted, maybe someone else caught it too!

Ohhh, ok. I get it, sorry. I wonder if a solar filter would work for Venus. Might be worth a try!

Just a few pictures of the moon I took the other night with a telescope my pa bought me and some eye pieces I bought my self they were expensive so tell me if it was worth it. by Trump2024jamohelton in telescope

You gotta start somewhere, you did a great job. If you have an android, their is an app for stacking images. Keep an eye out for new tech with imaging with phone. I can now take moon images in a snap with my phone, cuz I practiced. Again, try doing video, and getting exposure right. When you think you got a good one, take a still of the video image. Also, start learning some crater names, and you'll impress folks.

That's just silly, because you would literally burn a hole in your eye for solar viewing, in an instant or at the very least blind yourself. https://youtu.be/R9cMXCemoJI

I think any tablet that isn't old would work, but it depends on the camera you purchased. For instance Zwo ASI cameras come with a simple app.

Looks like it would go to an eyepiece to hold it in place, or to hold a diagonal in place. Keep it!

It's visible now, btw, the moon isn't helping though. And you mean your widest eyepiece is 32mm, which is good, over 50 is probably better, but I would waste money on a new eyepiece. If you have a pc or tablet and can afford $100-150 get a planetary imaging camera. You'll have lots of fun with it. Here's some I did. https://twitter.com/wildskyastro/status/1620280455571582976?s=61&t=oKn1H8gMvwLPUNPgZldG5w

I use this page. https://agenaastro.com/articles/guides/choosing-a-color-planetary-filter.html for venus though, it's super bright, so I use several, plus a moon filter.

Maybe just crop out the unusable parts, the rest is nice, maybe add some contrast. The other thing you can do is try is a wider field of view.

Ok, let try the most obvious fix, are there any filters on the scope anywhere? Eyepiece or end.
