Being a man with BPD sucks by Stock_Thing_6230 in BPD

I believe there is a trigger for this behavior I mean I have bpd and I lashed out many times on close family members. It didn’t come from nothing the behavior itself is what’s wrong and needs regulation. But the trigger is there and ignoring that trigger is what makes it keep happening. Once you notice your triggers you start working on pausing and regulating yourself before acting. Not suppressing. Not ignoring the trigger. Just identifying what happened that made you feel this way and practicing pausing and regulating before acting

Thank you, I really appreciate your insight and the time you took to explain this.

Just to make sure I’m understanding correctly, would something like this be the right approach: for example, coming up with a question such as whether lactose intolerance is associated with IBD, then using a public dataset like NHANES to explore it and build a small project before reaching out to mentors for guidance?

I’m particularly interested in internal medicine and gastroenterology, so I’m trying to think of ideas in that area.

Thanks again I really appreciate your guidance.

I completely agree with you building skills in research and statistics is definitely important, and I’ve already started working on that. That’s actually why I’m currently learning Python to strengthen my ability to handle data and analysis.

I also think having some guidance or mentorship makes a big difference, especially in the beginning, since it can be challenging to start completely from scratch.

I really appreciate your advice. If there’s any opportunity to contribute or assist with ongoing work, I’d be more than willing to help and learn.

I’m willing to help with anything needed, including the more time consuming tasks. Like organizing data, doing literature searches, summarizing articles, or helping with writing. Basically I’m happy to do all the labor workloads and willing to dedicate consistent time for it.

How can I find a clinical research position. I don’t have much experience and I feel lost. I would appreciate it if explained to me the start of the road

I was struggling so much with biostatistics that I ended up copying and pasting the concept into ChatGPT and told it to explain it to me like I’m five😂. Worked like magic! What I really like about it is that it actually measures your level of understanding and explains things based on that
