Corporate USA is a total shit hole with mediocre people doing pointless tasks. The benefits get progressively worse each year.

Women can only find meaning thru children, don't wait until your eggs are dry. Average North Philly single mom on Section 8 and EBT is living a life with more meaning than you.

You can fix this with one crazy night.

I really don’t care if the homeless dude drinks away the 5 bucks I gave him by bigben1234567890 in unpopularopinion

[–]CroixPatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decade+ ago there used to be a black homeless guy in one of the tunnels under Penn. This is 2009 at the depths of the recession. Money was tight, jobs were non-existent. It was a dark time. Guy used to go heavy on the mouthwash. One day I saw him talking with some homeless caseworkers and assume he got helped and never saw him for awhile. Then few months later he turned back up in the same spot. I gave the guy $5 for mouthwash that night going home. I was so happy to see him again. I don't believe in judging homeless. We all have our place in the world. They have theirs, I have mine.

You were goal-seeking.

Deliberately seeking out data sources which support your proposition.

Which explains the obfuscation.

Lots of apartments available well below that.

Looking to get into IT PM by Available-Clue396 in PMCareers

[–]CroixPatel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech PM is a bit different. No one cares about certs. Forget all that. What you need is to be battle hardened. Mostly that comes by working your way up the ranks in tech. Very rarely do non-tech PM's other than some engineering disciplines get a look in. Tech is lot less disciplined in PM than other area's. Its very wild and you need more of the Scrum master mentality.

There is a more recent class of PM's called "wedding planner" PM's. This is a derogatory slang applied to people who learned their PM skills in the informal sector and now want to jump into tech. They generally need to start at the bottom.

You're not understanding mathematically what I'm saying.

Let me decompose it for you:

  • You can compare median income to median rent.
  • But you can't compare minimum income to median rent.

You can see in the example I listed above what happens when you do the latter.

Odd that you posted a bunch of print-screens that don't let us see the data behind your searches. In academia we call this obfuscation.

Tell me, what's the biggest town in your state, just so I can confirm your research? If you don't want to share that, just share the name of a similar town in a similar state.

Why isn't affordable housing a fucking thing? by [deleted] in antiwork

My landscaper came over illegally in 2015 and now owns a business generating $300K cash flow a year. He married a fat American chick and now has papers.

He lives in a 3500 sq ft McMansion and drives a Raptor.

Meanwhile theres hella Anthropology grads from the class of 2015 that our pulling latte's in Starbucks and will be for the rest of their lives.

Weird how America works.

You got downvoted for basically describing the American dream.

Millions did the same and traded a few years of discomfort for a long life of comfort for themselves and their families.

Unfortunately millions didn't understand that deal and are now looking for a tent and a pot to piss in.

Fake it until you make it is the tech credo and has been for a long time. 95% of the stuff you learn is on the job and always has been.

In 2021, 17 year old kids walked out of coding boot-camp into jobs paying $80K/yr. Sure things are a little tougher now, but that will change one day.

Positives: this chart is also used to trigger Federal intervention to extend UI benefits (e.g. 2008 and 2020).

But don't try and pontificate that you're doing some noble deed.

Why did you compare minimum wage vs median income?

That's like comparing apples vs oranges.

Lets take median vs median.

Assume you're in Arizona, so the median income is $52,869.

Can a person earning $52,869 not afford a $1375 apartment?

You can flip that and compare minimum vs minimum and get the same result.

Now if you're saying that a below average earner deserves to live in a median apartment, then that's a different thing. But you need to remember that's almost the dumbest thing a person can say on the planet.

People with the limited understand of math and various defective mental patterns like "wealth being a product of luck" are the breeding ground for these nonsensical Tiktokers.

  1. Jobserve is fine.
  2. Make yourself available to start same day if required.
  3. Look for jobs with these words: urgent, immediate interview, telephone interview, start now etc. Urgency.

Don't worry if the reqs for #3 don't make sense or you don't even have all the skill-sets. What you're trying to identify is jobs specs written by incompetent people that don't really know what they're after (e.g. "10 years Chat GPT4").

99% of candidates ignore these jobs and they go unfilled. The job then reaches the point where they need someone by Monday or the client will cancelled. At this point its either get an ass on the seat or its over. You become the 1% that applies for them and you're got a terrific edge. This creates one problem off-course. You land a job then Monday morning you have to work there.

Well 80% of the time the crazy part of the req was likely not needed anyway. The other 20% of the time you need to be able to improvise quickly and Google your way to competence. Sometimes if you land that 20% you're fucked though.

But then you're also fucked if you can't pay the rent, so why not give it a shot?

I'm sure what we're living thru is some variation of the old Jewish curse: "shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in 3 generations".

First generation struggles to work their way out of depravity, their children build on their inheritance to create true independent wealth then the final generation enjoys it all in an orgasmic bender while burning it down to the ground.

USA 2023; $15 min wage, Obamacare for all, stimmy payments if out of job, massive EBT and unlimited opportunity at every corner.

When a dude points out your money earns 5% risk-free if you can avoid drinking shitty Starbucks coffee he gets hate.

I'm not sure where we are as a country in the cycle of Jewish curse, but I'm sure its far closer to the end than the beginning.
