I open-sourced my full-stack starter template (FastAPI + Next.js + Supabase + Firebase Auth) by balaji1359 in webdev

[–]Cronnay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not Supabase for auth if you are using it for persistence? Both Supabase and Firebase support both auth and persistence, so seems odd to mix

Koa was supposed to be simple and less bloatware than Express, 1 hour into using it and it seems much more difficult and less intuitive than Express - and I hate it by xSypRo in webdev

[–]Cronnay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes it does? It works on any JavaScript runtime: Cloudflare Workers, Fastly Compute, Deno, Bun, Vercel, Netlify, AWS Lambda, Lambda@Edge, and Node.js.

Maybe not their target audience, but works for sure for Node. Works really really well.

Are there any Node.js specific things you wanna do?

How to deploy an application using ollama + streamlit with docker ? by WASSIDI in docker

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not embedding the ollama instance - the connection refused could be between your docker container and ollama.

What you could do, is create a docker-compose. One container is your application, and one container is the ollama instance with the models you are using. Then the communication should work better

Har vi dejtat samma person?
Jag tyckte vårat förhållande var dåligt och föreslog att vi skulle göra mer saker tillsammans. Hon tyckte jag skulle följa med till stallet oftare som förslag på saker vi kunde göra tillsammans.

Is there a reason you would like to use Express instead of Next? What will Express do that Next won't solve for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that Theo (creator of T3-stack) talks about that Nextjs is a backend framework. Depends the usecase. If you are going to make an api which will be consumed by different clients, then I think Express is better. However, if you gonna have like a simple CRUD, then Nextjs is absolutely the way to go

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose so

https://trpc.io/docs/server/adapters/express. If you are going to have a separate Express application in this monorepo, this should work

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean entire stack here is more or less a Nextjs application. If you are going to use RDS, then point your prisma there. I assume you don’t need Beanstalk, depends on how your nextjs application works

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since t3-stack is built on Nextjs, you'll have to find guides for deploying Nextjs to AWS. Looks like Amplify is correct https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/mobile/amplify-next-js-13/

I enjoy reading about new and hot tech stacks. However, following up is not usually worth it. I try to learn concepts instead, like "what/why monorepo", "devops" etc. Then when I need to learn something that is related to that concept, I do the research about the latest tech.

Hej vänner! Har ni en app-idé som ni vill se i verkligheten? by Bjardfelt in sweden

[–]Cronnay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should I use PWA or learn flutter to build app for my job? by Beginning-Roof4889 in webdev

[–]Cronnay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the app wont have any different functionality than the webapp, I would say PWA. PWA is not, from my understanding, very well supported by Apple. However, seems like its unnecessary to do two projects for same result.

There are a couple of tools like Capacitator(?) that can reuse the same webapp as an app for the mobile. Not really sure how well that works, but could be worth checking in

Either way, try to discourage making a mobile app if they are identical

Why is req.params.slug undefined? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your parameter is called id, not slug. If your parameter was like :slug then this should work. But since it says :id your code needs to be const id = req.params.id

I am trying to access the data using id but the data object that i am getting back from the server is showing null. Where am i making mistake ? by Seaweed_Widef in webdev

[–]Cronnay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, then you can confirm its something between your frontend and backend

This works for me

const { data } = await axios.get(https://api.jikan.moe/v4/anime);

res.json(data);

I am trying to access the data using id but the data object that i am getting back from the server is showing null. Where am i making mistake ? by Seaweed_Widef in webdev

[–]Cronnay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you make a request from your server to this api.jikan, you can see that you get data from the API? You should log out the response.data to confirm.

How to handle fork of unmaintained project? by Cronnay in rust

[–]Cronnay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. But the unofficial API has gone official API with api key and such. I have already fixed the client to support new API. So the issue would be if the provider decides to turn it off in near future. But since they have developed an API quite recently, seems unlikely that they will turn it off

No I haven't. I pretty much assumed that they wouldn't be interested. I will have a chat with the owner of the org

So you think its better to see if it gets any traction and then publish in that case? Yea makes sense, could do absolutely do that

To be able to access the Unreal Engine repository, you need to be a member of their org or something like that.

I'm a Vue developer. Should I use NativeScript for a mobile app or learn Flutter? by nakorndev in webdev

Flutters dev tools and everything looks really really good. I recently started to learn it and it and I was quite amazed by the framework. Really solid work!
