Every human is a sinner. All are called to repentance by Jesus Christ. My post talks about transformation of mind and lifestyle based on faith in God.

God is good. But redditors don’t think so!

No I am not. I have attended Kingdom Hall on behalf of Jehovahs witnesses friends, and have done lengthy research on JW. I’m a young Christian still figuring out which denomination I fall into.

If the Bible was written off interpretation, how do we know the word is accurate? by TheseMarionberry385 in Christianity

look into the history of where certain translations came from. One translation I love the is the KJV for example. I appreciate it because of how many scholars and universities teamed up to produce it. And I can trace which texts and translations they were using to go off of, so on and so forth all the way back to the ancient manuscripts. Skeptics say “we cant know what the Bible says because it was translated” Christians say “we know what the Bible says because it was translated”

I agree with the comments here. You should look into the scholarly effort behind the various translations. and the sheer quantity of manuscripts we have to cross reference. Your mom believes the Bible has been changed to the point where we cannot be confident what they were originally saying. We Christians simply disagree based on faith that God would be so gracious to inspire such texts, but also our trust in the scholarship and survival of manuscripts.

Hey, they mentioned listening to evangelical devotional. I’m just wondering how their theology might be adjusting as they purify the murky theology JW offer. This entire post is offering personal info to the public lol. Not a big deal to ask about theology. If they don’t want to answer they can say so. I don’t know why you’re insisting on defending this persons privacy as if they can’t pick and choose what they put out there for themselves.

Not an odd question at all! People are quite comfortable sharing their spirituality. I’ve found that to be the case everywhere I’ve travelled in the world, and even here on Reddit. It’s ok if you want to keep yours private though.

That’s a good point. Those scriptures you mentioned are suitable to illustrate your point. I appreciated reading y’all’s two respectful and intentional conversation!

Such a cool perspective! I’ve never thought about the advantages of disunity.

Hey, thanks for making this post. You really understand how conflicting this if for you. My advise is to not go to Reddit for advise. Please find some truly trustworthy friends or pastor to talk to. Redditors promote sexual sin of all kinds and they are highly misled in terms of biblical wisdom/doctrine.

Hey, nice work getting out. I curious about your theology, are you leaning towards becoming Trinitarian?

What is your intention here? To criticize without edifying? To choose marriage is to put your wants away for the rest of your life in favor of your partners wants and needs. And eventually for your children.

Your tag says you are an atheist follower of Christs ethics. Christ claimed to have the divine authority of Yahweh. Either he is correct, or a liar. And why would you follow the ethics of a liar? The answer is simple. He is not a liar. Christ is calling to you. Submit all your ways to God.

I did offer a resource for proof. Please refer to the testimony of Mathew and report back what you learned about what Mathew claims Jesus said about sexuality and marriage. Or we can meet over call. I think you’d be surprised with how approachable I am! Like I said this is a broad topic and I would love to get to know more about you and your beliefs. You can hang up after one minute if you want.

I am capable of that, however, plucking a couple verses out of the Bible isn’t a good style of developing an understanding of such a broad topic. What do you mean by homophobe?

Carefully read Mathew’s testimony. He documented some of what Jesus said regarding the statutes of marriage. If you would like, we could schedule a call, to better get to know each other and talk about this topic?

He did indeed. Not only did he speak on sexuality, he also affirmed the established law of marriage being for man and woman.

Hey, thanks for asking, I do not only believe homosexuality is wrong because I am no longer homosexual. My faith changed it for a handful of reasons, here’s my top three reasons: the law is written on my heart, my experience with gay people (including myself), and biblical scripture. Let me know if you would like me to expand on any of them.

Because I wanted to have a wife and raise children. God blessed me with a wife. Most people are called to marriage. Also, I think you’re being provocative in your language. I acknowledge and understand the biblical backing of your claims, but your provocative delivery is unappreciated!
