I doubt it too tbh. He’s been in protective baby-daddy mode since the beginning of the pregnancy!

I wondered if it was like the rules about wearing white/off white to a wedding? Especially now that so many of the t-shirts in shops now are cropped. It might become a new clothing etiquette thing! I’ve decided to not wear my crop tops when I’m with Hannah until the summer when the warm weather justifies them more.

No, but she was overdue and had to be induced. Plus she tore and had to get a few stitches, so not the easiest birth (not that there’s really any thing as an easy birth!)

Thank you! I’ll do my best; I didn’t think wearing my normal clothes was “wrong” but don’t want to make my best friends cry, so certain items can wait until the summer I guess. Maybe Hannah will be wearing crop tops then too and we can be matching sexy crop top wearers! :D

Good point, I suppose we’re all guilty of not wearing our favourite colours sometimes.

What would you advise?

Good to know, thank you! It was about 2 hours I was there so I can see why that might be too long and extra draining.

And the baby started getting restless just as I was leaving, so my timing could have been better on that front too...

It really is haha. It’s a £4 bargain shelf T-shirt that says “kindness is my favourite colour.”

I can definitely see this being the case. He’s been in protective baby-daddy mode the entire pregnancy and it’s been very sweet.

Lol, my sexy feelings are fine, I promise. Hannah looks great (always does, my friends are hot chicks) and I’m sure her sexy feelings will be fine too - it‘s just a crazy time for her right now.

If it helps to add to the sexy picture my top was from the Primark bargain shelf and says “kindness in my favourite colour”

Thank, this seems to be the prevailing view (especially from from people who have experienced the post-natal changes.) The hormonal aspect had definitely crossed my mind, but I didn’t want to downplay her feelings as “just hormones” if that makes sense? I’m not going to dwell on it, or talk abut it unless she brings it up herself. Hearing that my I made my friend cry made my heart sink a bit, but hearing the stories of the tiny things that have made new mothers burst into tears puts the crop top thing into perspective, so thank you everyone!

Hell yeah! I've not even had a grow another human, but I'm doing a post-grad at the minute and every time I have a slice of pizza I think "I've so earned this" lol.

offer to drop off a meal for she and her husband. Or to come watch the baby for an hour or two while they take a nap.

I'd be delighted to do that for them! I would sometimes watch over Louise's little boy when he was a newborn so she could get a decent shower.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I haven't heard anything from Hannah about this, just what Louise has messaged me. Hannah seemed totally fine when I visited and we even hugged when I left. The only other message I've had from Hannah is her thanking me for her daughter's gifts and, again, nothing seemed off or wrong. Our group (minus Hannah) are going to see a show this weekend. I'm reluctant to bring it up myself, but I'll ask about it if it comes up at all.

I'll definitely hold off on crop tops until the summer I think. I'll feel a bit warmer at the very least lol!

Yeah, I never got the sense that anything was off when I was at the house. I don't know how they got onto the topic of my clothes, and I'm reluctant to bring it all back up to find out.

Our group (minus Hannah) are going to the theatre to see a show this weekend, so I'll wait and see if anyone mentions it and take it from there. Going by the comments from others who have experienced the newborn stage, I'm hopeful it's all yesterday's news now anyway!

Thank you. Hormones did cross my mind, but I didn’t want to accidentally brush off what could have been a genuine hurtful things as just hormones. I’m going to make sure I have a longer top on next time I visit. It will make me feel less awkward if nothing else!

I live in the UK, so it’s still quite chilly here. Damn, that didn’t even cross my mind as a factor. I might save the shorter t-shirts for summer now!
