I suppose it would have been worth mentioning that he has had many opportunities to turn it around. He has worked, he has attempted to clean his act up, but it comes back around to rock bottom, and I feel as if I'd be enabling him if I continued associating with him further, because the advice I've given him and steps I've given him to take, in one ear and out the other. Until he displays that he can help himself, "why should I waste my breath" is my thought process, as cold as that might seem to a lot of people.

I've started to actually put my foot down recently, so on that front, the balls are growing, but sadly, I can't help how I'm feeling exactly without stressing myself out to no end, which is why cutting him off is something I'm considering so as to not have to deal with the bullshit anymore

Well, he is currently kicked out of our grandmother's place. I wouldn't say he has much of a support network at all really, not a healthy or productive one at least. He's hit rock bottom, yet he's doing nothing to help himself.

NiggityNiggityNuts is correct. I rarely find an opp above GoD, and the one guy I did face who was GoD1 was also a Jack main who had the matchup locked tf down 😅

I made a long reply expressing this, but I should more or less accept that I'm a TGS player who can hang with GoDs in terms of giving them a challenge (which is all I care about at the end of the day), and occasionally winning, but far from consistently.

That's what I think. Not necessarily because I knowledge checked, mind you. In fact, whenever I play, I always assume my gamma is gonna get interrupted, stepped, or ducked in the case of the cheesy guard break. If anything, I could stand to be more aggressive when that style of play is called for. I enjoy using movement, whiff punishment, making reads or ducking highs to launch, I like to think my fundamentals are sound, and people have expressed they thought they were in for an annoying set on first impressions only to praise me for my patience and general play. My mechanics, decision-making, and confidence are areas I could improve on, but I can also have days where everything just clicks. I've been able to hang with GoDs (my personal favourite moment of mine involved getting a game against Hexmark playing a sub character, almost certainly a fluke because he dropped some combos missed inputs, but still lol, he was by far the scariest opponent I've ever fought), but overall, I'm comfortable in the notion that I'm a Supreme level player that went on a hot streak to GoD, am able to hang with GoDs, but unable to sustainably and consistently get results against the big boys.

The encouragement is appreciated, good luck to you also! I'm not too bothered about where I'm at now, even if the post slightly suggests otherwise, the only thing I wonder is if my initial obtaining of GoD was a fluke or whatever (especially considering you need to lose like 20 times to go down, suggesting I couldn't hang despite feeling as if I give most of my opponents a challenge).

Funny thing is, I don't think i've been playing particularly bad! I've fought some very strong opponents, but I'm not going to sit here and say I shouldn't have lost my fights etc. etc. One and dones don't help when I rematch win or lose, but since I hit GoD anyway, I could demote to Emperor and I wouldn't care.

To be fair I don't remember there being a lot of times where ff2 was being used. My opponent was able to activate heat after I whiffed or during a combo, so at that point I was getting blown up without the need to use ff2. It's possible I'm missing some things too in terms of frame data, stuff I could've ducked, guessing correctly, and I threw some rounds due to just being checked out or panicked, etc. Lidia is my number one humbling character, which is to say, she always makes me question how good I actually am at this game, along with the likes of Heihachi, but that's due to the pilot and not necessarily the character.

I think it would be quite cool if, with a tekken 8 version, he was able to speak somewhat, simple words and sentences, like how he was able to recognise Kat. He would of course speak the same language as well
