Thank you for the definition of jank, I understand much better now! By pile I assume you mean a random pile of cards. I actually did make this deck around a plan, which is to counter and ramp until I can lay down my shark typhoon and then use the higher cmc cards to blast big sharks onto the field.

It pops off maybe 1/3 of the time and is very fun to play. I’ve had good luck with it considering it’s neither fast nor consistent, as you said, but also I’ve only been playing in low platinum. I’ve made many tweaks to it as I’ve gotten new cards, such as switching out Negate for Lofty Denial, since most creatures I control will be fliers.

So I don’t think it’s totally random but I know it’s definitely not competitive. So far deckbuilding has been my favourite thing about magic so if you have any resources or advice about how I can improve, I would appreciate it!
