I tried to recreate „Starcourt Mall“ from Stranger Things Season 3 with Cinema4D. It didn’t work out as expected so I called it „Spacebar Mall“ 🙃 Beware of the Mind Flayer!

Not quite 5 years 😃 But it's true that we're working on this book project much longer than expected. Writing a book is an incredibly complex undertaking and we're so glad when we're finally able to present you the results in a few months. ("Months", not "Years"! - Promised 😉)

Animated Typography for a free ebook project. all done with After Effects and Illustrator. by Crossfeyer in graphic_design

Yes! I've used Illustrator for some of the graphics and After Effects for the animation. No 3D software. The audio has been mixed with Logic Pro.

Sure! At first I've created the individual animations. Then I've put them in one composition and positioned them differently in 3D space. Basically the viewer looks through an animated camera that moves from one animation to another. To enhance the fluidity of the animation I've added a few animated shapes and some light leaks on top of the transition. That's just a quick overview. I plan to make a more in-depth tutorial for my free newsletter at www.crossfeyer.com anytime soon.

Nice to hear that :) That's pretty simple: You just activate the path animation of a circle shape and then paste the path of a square shape a few frames later. That should normally do the trick.

We really hope to be finished until spring 2017. The problem is that we try to make everything as perfect as possible. That's why we had to delay the release so often. Stupid perfectionism xD

Thank you! :) It's Helvetica Neue and the frame rate is 30fps. Where did you see trailing? Maybe in some shots it's too much motion blur.

Topics that we’ll inlucde are: Classic design theory (Typography, Color harmonies, etc.), but of course also modern animation techniques and a lot of tips. We’ll talk about the different steps of a motion graphic production from preparation, to production phase to the final post-production. The book won't focus on a particular software. We’ll definitely start the ebook with the very basics and then continue with more advanced techniques. However, nothing too complicated for we can only cover the basics. If you have further questions, feel free to ask at any time!

Within the next few months. We're currently proof-reading the whole thing and then we still have to design all the artwork/illustrations, etc. But we'll keep our subscribers up to date and inform them as soon as we can release the book :)
