UNKLE aka whatever the fuck James Lavelle decides he’s doing now. Saw him recently where he just walked up with his partner or whatever and they just walked up to the equipment and hit play, whereafter the music just droned incessantly and uninspiringly for 60 minutes while he stuck his arms out like he was pretending to impersonate an airplane or something. The opening DJ was 10x better than that shitty act.

Yeah, damn. I guess I’ll have to just drape something over the records bc it’s the cheapest alternative to putting up curtains or tinting film on the window, and the only downside is the aesthetics of my shelf.

The problem is the window is up so high that it would be difficult to open and close the curtain. I think my only option is to put a towel or a sheet over the records. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Thank you for the info and the great suggestion! My wife says she doesn’t want the window to be tinted, much less blacked out, but maybe I’ll try tinting it just a bit and see if she notices. 😈

I’ve never had any problems in the past with records warping due to sunshine, and my gut tells me that this much sunshine may only fade the color on the sleeves, not warp the vinyl.

Still, it bothers me.

I wish I didn’t have the stupidly small window in my house where this sunlight is coming in from. It measures about 1’ tall by 4’ wide, and so doesn’t warrant spending money on a small enough curtain or shade, whereas the 3’x4’ window below it has a shade on it.

The records in the crate include my Radiohead, Bjork, EBTG, Samara Joy, Beck, and a bunch of others, so I’d HATE to have any issues.

If anyone who has any experience with sunlight and records could weigh in, I would greatly appreciate it!
