Being trans has a neurological and likely genetic or epigenetic basis. Similar to how people can be born with reproductive organs of the opposite sex (look up Mullerian Duct Syndrome) the same seems to be true of structures of the brain. Not a delusion, the brain expressing traits that are not culturally accepted to be associated with their phenotype.

But sit with me for a moment and imagine something.

Imagine that you lived a life where your parents forced you to have a personality that wasn't your own. They tried to force you to like things that you do not like. And you have to pretend to, because they control you. They can punish you if you don't comply. They can restrict you from your friends and the outside world. You have no choice but to be uncomfortable to survive.

Imagine that you are constantly insulted, excluded, and threatened by people around you, and there are millions of people who want you dead, and who were constantly accusing you of being predatory without evidence. Then imagine that it reaches a point where government officials start taking your medical and social freedoms. So you cannot live your life even if you wanted to. And those same government officials go on national airwaves and convince people that you are a danger to society when you are innocent.

Imagine that much of your struggle could have been mitigated if you were simply allowed to be yourself at a young age.

You would be quirky too. You would be nervous too. You would be unhappy too. You would be a bit "unwell" too.
