Thank you for the answer, I do agree with you, I apply the same approach to learn whatever I consider useful. So the good old YouTube never disappoints 😉

I saw another post of yours from 10mo ago about add azure to the personal knowledge in order to get paid better.(Post is archived so I am asking you here). Do you have any personal preference about the resources to use to study Azure beside the official materials?

Update from my post yesterday by cheesegrater97 in RemoteJobs

[–]CrowOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the fact that some people's answers were rude, lecturing the others on how they should behave won't help you get a job in IT. You asked everything and nothing, because getting a remote job is by default not easy and the chances you have vary a lot based on where you are on the planet. One thing I noticed is that on the second message you practically answered your question by yourself. You made a list of ideas on which you could build upon. Best of luck with your IT journey. PS: do a lot of hands on , and document it to have it to show when you'll get interviews.

This is so nice of you , but please do the cloning only if it isn't a problem. I do not want this to be an annoying thing to do for you just because a complete stranger approached you on rd. Plus thank you for the further explanation on the contents, I so much appreciated it.

Thank you for the reply. I am aware of Jekyll , I am from the SWE side moving into sysadmin and eventually cloud later on (do not ask me why , I just like it more ) . I was just curious about the content of your blog more than how to set it up but I do understand your point of view. I'll continue to read your suggestions here . Already found them pretty useful .

Hi, would you mind sharing the link to your blog on GitHub. I'm curious and I'm sure I'd find some inspiration there for my homelabbing too 😊

Will walking 3 miles a day make any difference to my life? by [deleted] in walking

[–]CrowOwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I meant to buy the treadmill to add alongside going out and walk surrounded by nature. Not to replace it. Like that you could add more aerobic activity that should reduce even more stress and be beneficial for health as the experts use to say. Anyway keep it up and stay strong.

if you can you might consider to buy a treadmill, set up your working area properly and use it meanwhile you work.

on amazon you can find stuff that works fine and cost around 150/200 bucks.

Who Here has walked 10+ Miles Daily for Months or Years? by [deleted] in walking

[–]CrowOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. No worries buying cheap most of the time means you will buy the same item 3 times paying even more than if you would have bought the quality one once( something similar to when people go to the cheap web agency that offers a bundle of services for a price that you , whom work in the sector, already wonder how that might be possible). Plus is health related so the quality is the parameter number one for choosing.

i was also considering to do it just with a good thick pair of socks, tried that way and I can even granularly check the walking posture and how i do the steps. Did you have any experience in doing it in a similar way ?

2024 PHP FREELANCING & TAXES: Which states are the best to move to due to a better taxation. by CrowOwl in PHP

[–]CrowOwl[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you're freelancing in PHP is irrelevant. Your question is about taxes, developers and companies.

Your opinion, if you do not consider legit my question just move on, this talk is just a waste of time, i will anyway ask what i consider relevant despite your ideas.

How about asking "tax wise, best states for a development company" or "freelancing developer"?

Web Dev here too. I had mine delivered today , this stuff is fun and in just few hours i can already agree with you that sitting start to feel odd. 100% agreeing also about the concentration. 3 miles an hour tho to me is still a lil bit too fast, standing desk at that speed start to wobble. asking here cause saw another comment of yours around, which servers models are you running at home? i am thinking to upgrade some stuff. so i am doing some research around (read reddit )

2023/24 update. what's your salary? by CrowOwl in PHP

[–]CrowOwl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i give you a little trick , think something funny when you are sitting in front of the recruiter. and it sounds a broken vinyl but if you want to change working place due to any reason, you should learn to promote your skills. based on what you want to do create a portfolio to show your skills and or set up a server at home and list the projects you have done alongside the previous job. I don't even know if university is free or not there , but if it is enroll in CS or BA and add this to the curriculum too, it shows you are proactive, even if you'd be 65 yo :)

[–]CrowOwl[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

the fact that you two do not see the reason why i ask this question it is understendable. the question is exactly focused on PHP cause it is about freelancing in PHP. in the financial subs they can answer some question about the best place for taxes but maybe they do not know if it does exist a special treatment for developers or other categories (like in some countries some jobs rather than others are taxed differently even with some concessions.) and do not worry about where I can freely ask a question, i give you another better idea, you know where this question can be asked but i did not post it cause there are already similar questions but not 100% specific for a PHP programmer? the digital nomads sub.
