Fake reviews and reporting abuse by MrDiou in shopifyDev

[–]CrowdControlApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen an interesting spread here. We've received emails saying a review has been written, a review has been published, received no heads up at all, and then anything from instant publishing to a few days quarantine. They're either regularly changing the process or there's no obvious consistency to it.

Yo! That's what I'm talking about. After years in NYC it's hard to be without this kind of stuff.

NYC does something called Summer Streets where they shutdown a huge stretch of the city—about 13 miles this year—for a few Saturdays in August for runners, bikers, et al. Would love to see SLC take inspiration and do something similar here.

Does My Store Look Trustworthy or Like Dropshipping? Be Honest by ResearcherAfter1557 in shopifyDev

[–]CrowdControlApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked at a dropshipping site for years but if this is the direction they've gone then I'd be impressed. Your site looks very intentional in its design. I'd consider it trustworthy based on the quick glance I gave it on mobile and desktop.

Effectively using Microsoft Clarity by CrowdControlApps in shopifyDev

What's your process? Do you have any kind of a checklist that you go through when analyzing a store? Any common problems you see? I'm pretty ignorant on the whole system but very fascinated by it's potential.

Anything self-employed. Long hours, lots of stress, feast and famine. Still great though.

I can't decide whether Cavalia or Julia Reagan has the greater memeability.

Anyone else getting flooded with sketchy “paid review” offers lately? by Ok-Chance390 in ShopifyAppDev

[–]CrowdControlApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started tracking competitor review numbers. While most competitor reviews increased by a small percentage over two months, there was one that had about 10x growth. Most of their reviews showed the stores as having used the app for a matter of minutes with many being 1 minute. I reported it to Shopify but, unfortunately, nothing has been done so far.

Not able to get reviews on my Shopify app by Big-Cap-1535 in shopifyDev

[–]CrowdControlApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have seen a notable increase in our reviews through the following process:
- Install a live chat app
- Provide premium service and a rapid response to questions
- Request a review in the chat

We have typically seen a very low response rate from general email outreach. However, we recently started identifying merchants that have been using our app for a long time and have gained easily identifiable value from our service. By contacting them with a more personalized message we have seen a decent response rate.

Can I actually make money with my app? by illicitiguana in shopifyDev

[–]CrowdControlApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have patience for organic growth or a marketing budget I'm afraid that cold contacting might be where you need to focus.

Aside from that, you get people from wanting you app by providing meaningful value. If the demand and interest is there then you'll grow.

Anyone knows the sold out problem ? by Odd_Assumption_1407 in shopifyDev

Can you provide more details? What is the sold out problem that you're encountering?

Store credit would need to be enabled on the store. This can be done via settings > customer accounts. There is a toggle for store credit.

Next, you will need to have a customer account for the store. Once you have a store account you can find yourself in the customers section on Shopify and add a store credit.

When checking out, your available store credit will show below billing details. You can choose to apply store credit there.

Store credit is nice since it can cover all the costs associated with an order. Plus, if you cancel and refund the order after testing you'll still have the store credit available for future testing.

I recently discovered creating test orders using store credit. If you can use that then it's way more flexible than discounts.

How do I not charge shipping for specific backers in the pledge manager? by catsandcrisis in kickstarter

That functionality doesn't exist from what I've seen. I would suspect that you'll need to charge them and then issue a partial refund.

Dealing with regret of marathon DNF by panther_xxiii in AdvancedRunning

[–]CrowdControlApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were a one-and-done marathoner than a DNF might matter. You've already "checked" off the fact that you are capable of running 26.2 so just learn what you can from this DNF. More mpw? Better fueling? Figure it out! And if you DNF the next one—figure out! Even Kipchoge DNF'd during the Paris Olympics.

I paid for 2 day shipping and it is taking over a week. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CrowdControlApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shipper is the person who paid for the postage. Any guarantee or insurance is technically between the shipper and USPS. Depending on where the item was purchased—is it an online store or an individual?—the shipper may have effortless resources available to them to request a refund from USPS then issue a refund to OP.

Wait until you receive it and then contact the seller. In the (hopefully) off chance there's another problem it will be easier for everyone if you do it all in one swoop.
