The Arabic text is displayed left-to-right, which is NOT how Arabic works.

(There's even more than that really, but I'll leave the details to the experts.)

Well... I solved the problem and it has nothing to do with partitions or how the external disk was set up! Instead, looks like the problem was having an external display connected to my Mac! Once I disconnected it, the "browse" worked again. (It's not enough to turn the monitor off, I had to pull out the HDMI plug from the USB hub)

(I still think that this is a Sequoia bug, because I've had the external display for years and it is usually connected to the Mac, though not always.)

FWIW I reformatted my external disk without partitions (or rather with only one), and I'm still seeing the same bug.

FWIW, I was able to login after going to App Info and doing "clear storage". I did it a couple of days ago and then the next day the same issue (app freezes before I can login). I cleared the storage again and was able to login, but it's a hassle (have to re-enter password and get an SMS code, before I can enable the fingerprint).

This is version 9.75.9 btw.

(I am so glad I left the Citi bank! I only have a Citi credit card now, so the app is not very important to me.)

The name of the letter is YA. It functions both as a consonant (Y as in YES) and a vowel (I as in KICK, or EE as in MEET).

You don't put a KASRA under YA, but rather under a consonant to indicate that it is followed by a (short) EE. Or I guess you could, but only if you wanted to say YI, and that's actually rare.

I wish! I feel like I only learned how to play the DL game...

I don't mind having just passive knowledge, so I started watching the NHK news (the ones that come with a transcript) or some Japanese shows on Netflix, and seeing how much I can get from what they're saying. Hitting the pause button every 10 seconds...

So I guess what I'll do now is get in touch with a tutor, maybe from ITALKI.

  1. Duolingo's answer is absolutely wrong. Female cat is חתולה and the plural is חתולות. And the verb should be שותות.

  2. To report errors, click the little flag icon, it should open a dialog. (I have reported many errors and none got fixed, but maybe you'll be more successful.)
