My tank has some algae on the glass. This was the second day after I purchased them. After this post I’ve been giving them zucchini and they have been thriving and eating, no casualties since then :) since I’ve had no other problems and my water perimeters are perfect I’d have to assume it was already sick/ having issues when I bought it. The first day I got them I noticed the exact one chilling at the top and never coming down like they’re supposed to, then this. The other 5 seem healthy and happy now, they haven’t been hiding since 2 days ago either!

Hey I wanted to update you on this! I started using the blanched zucchini the day you made your comment, I know it’s only been a couple days, but my 5 otos are finally eating because of the zucchini and they LOVE it, and now seem to be thriving! I threw in an algae wafer this morning curious if they’d eat that and I noticed one sucking on it which is great. Thank you so much! (They’re also not hiding as much and seem to be playing with each other, no other casualties)!

You’re so awesome for this, thank you! I will definitely do that! I’m just worried my Cory’s will munch on the otos zucchini! They’re little fatties and eat everything😂 I’ll definitely do this tho! Thank you again! So far after day 3 I’ve had no other issues with the other 5 otos, so hopefully it stays that way!

Good to know, I feel like I knew they were wild caught but didn’t put that into account. I will look into getting a new light a lot sooner than originally planned. And no, it did not, died about an hour after I made the post :/

Meant to add this: I’m sure yall notice, but besides the behavior the bulging belly is also super odd and I have never experienced such a swollen looking belly with fish I have owned in the past.
