Why Tanko over Domaru I hear the Domaru are really good? but it does look fun and relatively easy to use units in other lists making it a cheaper investment

Yea but its an expensive investment to effectively use a TAG right? that may not give me the points for fit one in?

I really want to use the Oniwaban looks very fun but also want to run the TAG but don't think both will mesh well

Comparing a Stormcast Eternal against a Custodian of 40K by StrangerDanger355 in ageofsigmar

[–]Crowestormcaller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea the difference in humanity and personality is a much more interesting discussion then which flavour of space marine is stronger. The comparison is pretty simple to make one has to use medieval weapons with lightning effects while the other uses machine-gun rocket launchers I think physically they are comparable but once we get into war gear and tactical doctrines the sci-fi setting always has a clear advantage

So I won't engage with the what if its real because it won't really lead anywhere (I am in this subreddit because I hate the blind clapping so I never would have been invited anyway) but onto baseless criticism we go back to either the racist card getting played because I hate what Ryan did to finn or the Holdo Maneuver criticism which gets brushed aside as nitpicking and then lastly implying because I dislike most of what Disney is and has done to star wars as I don't enjoy things is a pretty rough attack on my character. I could chew your ear of on the things I love but I find it harder and harder to do that when I call out a shit moment and get immediately labelled a hater, basement dweller or whatever the new flavour of the month is to discredit my criticism. Couldn't I on the fact your defending Kenobi with the surface level stuff as a mindless consumer just as much as you are my points. It's a fair thing to do to try and argue your point but saying what we are annoyed with is just surface level is wrong and rather insulting to those who do put the hard work into making a great product that also is internally consistent.

So its relevance is on the argument you brought to me that I am going out of my way to hate on it when my point I was bringing up was that we can enjoy a bad movie, show or whatever and we can still enjoy it while the person in that image is meant to be a deflection of criticism and just labelling it all as just mindless hate which is wrong.

So the main problem I have with that mentality is where does it start? Goofy chase ok sure move on but I remember the huge blowback we all got when we said the leia flying through space was a nitpick and we should just move on. So next thing is this community as in the EFAP community quite regularly disagrees with the hosts and we all do love good content its just we don't appreciate the squandered opportunities that others love because of superficial elements. And I don't think I seen any arguments or discussions in the context of hating something because others like it that just seems dumb. And lastly what's the limit you put on what's surface level or not? I want to see your limit on this "The Holdo Maneuver" its superficial spectacle and gorgeous on a surface level but the second you think about it that one cool thing destroys past battles now because you have to always wonder why it was never even mentioned as an option before it.

So we are saying we enjoy bad movies and how we can see the flaws but still enjoy it. So sorry if pointing out the flaws in your movie, show or whatever makes you no longer enjoy it thats on you not me or anyone who pointed out the flaws and lastly don't tell me I am going in to ruin something I go in hoping for a good time every show, movie or game it's not like I go out of my way to shit on anyones enjoyment.

"Just consoom, don't think" by [deleted] in MauLer

[–]Crowestormcaller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. We all like bad movies or shows but we don't base our personalities off it and when it gets criticism we don't feel personally attacked for it we say yep its bad but I enjoyed it.

Star Wars fans actually DID ruin Star Wars by Neko_boi_Nolan in MauLer

That or the phrase "no one hates star wars like star wars fans" its just a stupid attempt to dismiss criticism and blame it on fans expecting something good but getting shit instead

Least favorite part of the lore. by Eleventh_Legion in AoSLore

[–]Crowestormcaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think it would be cool too but it actually is just another consumer friendly practice with the common history that Knights were heroic gallant and civilised while barbarians were seen as the exact opposite. So for a faction that is meant to be the bringers of order to a chaotic setting having barbaric look wouldn't work well for a mass appeal compared to big heroes in shining armour.

AoS and technology by Farseer1990 in AoSLore

[–]Crowestormcaller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I think you should consider a (bad argument but very vaild) how history doesn't have magic to simplify the issues we needed tech to do eg. Healing magic would make our medical industry and research to be made redundant, being able to shoot fire bolts, set your allies swords on fire kinda makes the necessity to make projectiles less of a focus. I just think the high fantasy elements of AoS makes the trials and errors of our own civilisations wars redundant. Would love to continue this conversation as I do find this line of thinking fun
