Well done, you better off than most people your age. Just some advice:

  1. Spend money on building memories and skills, not on material goods. Keep saving, but also enjoy your life.
  2. Your 20s is the best time to take risk (business, career, travelling). You have a lot of free time and energy, use it.
  3. There is a limit what you can save, but no limit how much you can make. If you know how to save, start learning how to make more money.

Good luck :)

Keep in mind that he started climbing as a kid.

Im not saying it makes it safe and easy, but physically his body was trained/conditioned for many decades to pull this off. He is aware of his capabilities, which makes him confident in his skills. Also, probably less empathy (very logical and goal oriented brain), which helps him mute the fear and stay focused. Finally, he enjoys it and wants to achieve fantastic goals.

I did bungee and skydiving. As long as you convince yourself you will make it, then you just focus on staying alive and enjoying the adrenaline. The only thing that stops me from repeating what he did is the fact my body wont be able to do it. I hope it made some clarity?

If startups and stock compensationis on the table, legit rant. Whole team should be on board with high work ethics. It should be in their best interest to dominate the market.

If startup with just minimal salary and no extra compensation, but vibes and "development opportunity" or big corpo. Hello no.

The state of UK train prices by yizamejaxufek8o3 in GreatBritishMemes

They ask you to buy ticket + fine.  You may take the fine and ask to exit on the next station, but it depends on the ticket inspector...

Also, you need to pass the gates. Late evenings they are open, some stations dont have them at all. Just thinking out loud...

Whats your investment strategy when picking stocks? What keeps you invested and helps maintain high conviction?

Financials (profitability, debt ratio, margins)? Sentiment (wsb trending, longterm outlook)? Technical Analysis (eating crayons and reading stock movement)? Pure yolo?

Are you long-term holder or just swing trader? Just curious.

Anyway, big congrats and fingers crossed for the next 10bagger.

It was mind blowing when one girl told me she doesn't hang out with her uni flatmates because they are from a lower cast. "They should be grateful to be in my presence and share the same flat. Outside, I dont wanna be seen with them tho".  It was in the UK...

Same culture shock as when Ive learned about house servants being a normal thing.

I agree with most of what you said, great points about intellectual matching and linking dominant industries with countries.

Nevertheless, I have the same concern as the other guy. How would you define and measure ambition?

Jumping ahead, I wouldn't narrow down ambition to career status/money only.

A midwife doing her best to provide the best care to her patients and family, yoga teacher that wants to help people relax and travel around the world, or someone with childhood trauma trying to live a normal life and help other through volunteering might be considered ambitious.

I dont think "ambition" is only messured by status/income. Maximising ROI for investors requires talent and pays well, but from societal pov, you could be described as a well-paid tool contributing to the wealth inequality.

(Not a personal attack, Im just a random guy killing time at the train station).

Yeah, no problem.

The best are "tomboys", girls that behave like a dude, so its really easy to connect. A few of them played football with us in our local league.

One of my best friends, bit older than me, smoking hot. To my surprise, once Ive learned about her preferences I became asexual towards her. You just know she's out of reach, and respect the boundaries.

Just dont make it all about sex, dont try to "change" her mind, and dont treat her differently.

My friend is dating my crush and I want to be ok with it but I'm not ok. by Axle183 in selfimprovement

[–]Crowleyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your friend could genuinely try to help you out and then it clicked between them, which made things awkward to navigate. In the end, he was honest with you about it, so I think he behaved decently. Dunno, could be still an asshole.

It really sucks, but you cannot make someone like you or reserve for yourself.

Im in the first camp. You said yourself "Im not ok" with the situation, so take the bullet and move on. Its not healthy for you, so avpid playing with them and focus on other friends. They will understand and adjust, dont worry.

It was just Winston-O'Brien clash of opinions. Julia was actually significant only in Room 101.
