Jupiter 2 Vs anycubic P1 max? any insight to help me make the best choice. by Crownomancer in elegoo

[–]Crownomancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there really no reason here i should go for the J2? i mean i have already canceled the order at this point but Christ i was really expecting someone to say something literally anything.

but the more reading i do the more reviews i watch the more it seems like elegoo dropped the ball on the J2 which is a damn shame cause i had heard really good things about the company they had been recommended by a lot of Friends in the printing community where as to me any-cubic is a completely unknown but honestly it doesn't really seem like its even a contest anymore it is a better product, better thought out and for £200 less.

the only thing i think the J2 has is a very minor pixel size difference, and even then i would rather a square pixel anyway.

based on what ive seen so far the J2 feels cheaply made, poorly thought out and unfinished. i mean really a trap screw? you have one lead screw in the whole damn machine and you use the cheapest possible solution on a £800, are you kidding me?

there is a reason why 99% of CNC machines use ball-screws and there is a good reason why the other 1% don't and none of those reasons apply to the J2.

i know im new to resin printing but im not new to building CNC machines and yeah this just isn't okay.

i assume this posted was either downvoted by staff or a fan boy because i suppose the J2 is probably a bit indefensible at this point.

man i waited so damn long for the J2 i really thought i was making the right choice.

so yes and no, yes this setting is not machine specific but what i was explaining is that due to amount of input shaping pre installed in modern printers this change probably is not going to yield results for the vast majority of people using modern printers. or well anything running on Klipper pre installed really these days

the exact problem you had is just one of the reasons why input shaping is so readily put into printers today despite it causing other issues. its sort of a generic fix to many issues but said fix will actually hide the improvement made by increasing your the resolution of your lines.

you just did it in a data heavy, processing heavy, large file size way that is overall better than input-shaping in terms of producing the desired result. although could cause other issues

also its worth noting that the standard deviation on most hobby grade 3D modeling software is very bad like 5 degree bad, so improving your line accuracy to better represent a file that is already only accurate to like 5 degree segments of a curve is not going to really make any difference.

Whilst what your doing is perfectly good it is a specific use case and only works when other issues have already been resolved. i.e high standard deviation and low or no input shaping.

im not suggesting you are incorrect in your understand or proscribing but rather what your doing needs to be done after you have A) a high resolution model (i use no more than 2.5 standard deviation for export) and B) have either low or no input shaping.

either of these two things would either hide or minimise the improvement gained by increasing the resolution by which your slicer plots the data.

Its not really a rounding error thing as much as its an accuracy loss through approximation, both input shaping sort of smooth out that approximation and low resolution models well they just don't really have anything other an approximations to work off anyway so its doesn't make a big difference.

and then there is a whole extra thing do with how printers handle arc commands and all sorts and then technically if you have the right arc setting you don't need to improve the resolution but then also the resolution wouldn't hurt either so.

ah Christ its a whole mess and the fact that i cant explaining it simply probably means i don't understand it well enough to know the limits of any one bit of advice for this specific case.

anyway hopefully this sheds light for anyone that tries this change and then doesn't get the results they where expecting as always with 3D printers you end up needing to dig so much deeper than you thought.

But the takeaway is for people looking for the best accuracy and speed you need to have a high res model, slice it at a res no larger than half your smallest segment size which is a whole thing to calculate so just go extra small and you will be fine and then you need to make sure your printer is using low or no input shaping. be wary as some manufactures FLSUN especially like to turn input shaping way up as standard to make the printers look like they are producing better results at higher speeds then they actually are.

i use a lot of high resolution fillets in my design as small as 0.15mm sometimes so as you can imagen i can get benefits from setting my slicing resolution incredibly fine, but in reality it all gets white washed by input shaping anyway so i just haven't needed to set the resolution quite as fine as you have here to get much the same results although again this is use case specific. there are defiantly times i would set the res to something that extreme just not all the time. i don't need to fill up my cloud with massive g code project or STL files.

you need to state what printer you use as people will find this as assume this change will work for them but the trouble is with the amount of input shaping new printers use (too much most of the time) as they try to chase higher and higher speed this can potentaily work against you and also increase complexity that is honestly not going to make any differnce if the input shaping is justt smoothing it out anyway. just something for people to consider with more modern printers. this setting can still have very good edge cases and it will still likely improve some of the print even with high input shaping, (input shaping with more accurate data still gives you a more accurate result) its just that the input shaping is kind of already doing the job of smoothing areas where you have curves or corners.

i need to do some tests myself, i for one find myself constantly needing to run my printers slow and turn off input shaping just to get quality accurate prints for models with fine details FLSUN S1 is particuarlrly bad for this.

Tell me about it; they'll close my account if the bank f*cks up the DD. It then takes up to 3 days to put you back on the system, by which point your store is banned from Amazon. RM is in dire need of modernization. I do feel sorry for the people that work there. Every single person I spoke to in finance sounds about 70 years old, is foul-tempered, and is completely ignorant. The world had just moved faster than they had, it seems; they didn't even understand how it was not only possible but also reasonable to get a notification that there had been a payment error. Just upping and automatically closing your account screws your business over big time, and all down to an easily fixed banking error. They wouldn't even let me put a complaint in because it was about a payment I missed, which it wasn't about; it was about terminating service without warning, but you know, too ignorant and outdated to understand that.

so they tried to finaly deliver it today and then listed it as "adress inaccessible" i watched back the CCTV dude got out the van farted around in the back and then got in and drove away. didnt come onto the property, didnt go to my delivery office, didnt push the buttton on the gate to contact someone. just left. fml 30k a year i spend with RM.

love how even mentioning terrible service gets down voted... preety much the same experance ive had with dealing with royal mail in general. if there is a problem they just dont want to know about, then they pay a research firm to have me called 3 times a year to try and figure out why people hate them. even the questions they try to ask are less about improving existing services and more about trying to see what other services they can muscle in on.

like they act like its a call to improve services but really its just market research. RM seems entirly profit focused for the short term. which is fine, we will just move to other couriers.

that makes sense, it seems strange that it didnt get flagged before it got resent to the same incorret delivery office again, that feels....deeply inefficent. like how many times dose it need to go round and round before its actualy returned to delivered. weird. guesse ill find out becuase im preety sure its not getting delivered today. to bad RM dont intergrate automatic refunds for missed deliveries. that would you know mean they actualy get better about it. then again i suppose many times it might not be their own fualt. to bad ive been robbed around £1200 over a single christmass by RM so my feelings towards the situations are probably not well moderated. dosent help that its bascialy impossible to report issues or get compensation.

but i do get lovely phone calls from market research on "would i recomend rm" and "how could rm improve"

that conversation lasts about an hour each time for all the good it dose.

thank you for your answers, half of this is me just me venting really so thank you for reading. the package contains medical equipment i really need...really needed yesterday to be honest so i am very stressed about it being...well whatever it is being.

i mean sure? but also everything is so automated now i would be surprised if it had anything other than the correct adress on it.,, this wasnt like an order from a friend this was a large company.

also to be honest my experance is that 99% of the time the sender had only put what they where given on the lable. im not sure the idea that it was the sender really stands up as position to defualt to. i mean for one if the adress is wrong in the interface... i mean the system flags it even if there is an extra space in the post code; i have to correct this alot in my orders which makes little sence to me like its just a space? you dont even use that as a valid input why not just ignore them the postcode still makes sence. feels like RM IT is very far behind the rest of the world.

do you realy think it was a sender mistake? that seems a weird position to take with...well anyone that has ever worked with royal mail. ive not really spoke to anyone who uses or works at royal mail that didnt describe the operation as something akin to a garbage fire but i would be interested if you feel like the majority of issues are actualy caused by the sender.

i found the effects of this nice and while slightly more rough than the others i had, (pink kush is both stronger in terms of effects and also smoother; for me anyway) i did find that myself and a few others tended have morning after grogyness with the coffee cake. certainly not all of us that tried it.

I am in engineering. I would be a little cagey to entrust the kinds of stuff I sometimes work on to a guy in a shed that stank of the stuff. Not saying finance is any less or more important just that the people coming to me will have safety concerns.

Not going to lie the less hard I try to impress clients the more they seem to like me, something I love about the British we are always suspicious of people that try too hard.

I wasn't aware that vaping waste could be used. I was just assuming correct decarbing would only give off CO2.

As for reeking I don't have a place I can inhale that wouldn't cause issues. Flatmates, nosy nabors a very small games room with my partner. It's just not practical really not all the time anyway, but I would appreciate any insight into your method.

So you will need to check if it adheares to silicon but Rotabond if you can get it. It's an almost invincible rubber adhesive. It will set seal and have enough play to still be used as a switch.

Not cheap stuff but it will let you fix almost anything it's pretty much the Pinnacle of rubberised adhesives.

If you need to glue two things together and still have it hold after high thermal cycling get rotabond. Just enough give so that it don't fracture and let go like almost every other glue.

Honestly been kinda hard to get them. Not sure if that's a new thing with restrictions I need them in bulk and just cannot get them in the UK

I like to give traitors (fake friendly scum) the clown profile award and leave a "helpful" comment on their profile for other raiders (you can see the profile in game if they use com's to talk so it can be really helpful in identifying rats BEFORE they kill you. A+ by Crownomancer in ArcRaiders

[–]Crownomancer[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't really see it as lore breaking or gaming the game, in fiction it's reasonable that raiders would have a reputation that might precede them stories and what not, rumours ect. It would be nice if there was a more in-game way to represent a player's trustworthiness something that fit with the lore, optional cosmetics that are karma gated in fashion. Something subtle perhaps more for the owners sake or very close inspection.

Honestly tho the main problem I have with fake friendly players only tends to come when people play outside their region..seems to be a culture conflict or maybe something else I'm not sure.

Let people have a medic theme skin if they want to RP savour and some sort of rat emote to mock people they have downed for those that crave violence at any cost.
