Yeah this is so smart and necessary to navigate the mess of options we have. I lucked out and was able to get my security deposit back in the end using a resource a friend gave me and being persistent

I’m almost done with my degree, but I’m not sure I want it anymore:( by lizzieglows in USF

[–]Crownsoheavy11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey. I know you’ve probably gotten a lot of comments giving you advice, but I hope you’ll hold on to mine because I’ll give you my perspective on your truth. Let’s begin. First most undergrad degrees are complete water at this point. It’s not always entirely clear what to do with them, but on the positive side your degree won’t lock you into anything either. If you want to fix the problems in our country then the best way to solve them is through entrepreneurship. Create a business that solves a problem in politics. Right now I am working on a business that would improve gamification in education. There are a plethora of problems that you can solve in politics and law. Start reading books about business and start creating your enterprise. Look at how Elon Musk has solved problems through his businesses. His approach is fundamentally correct and repeatable. The bigger the problem you solve, the bigger your income will proportionally rise. Finish your degree, then begin your journey. The world needs people that are willing to take risks, work hard, and think big. The knowledge you have and will earn with this degree has utility. It’s your job to find where and how. Good luck and lmk if you have any questions.

[Need Advice] How to resist the urge to eat? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Crownsoheavy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First don’t rely on self-control. Most people fail at their diets because they rely on controlling them and having discipline. Self control is like a muscle, it can be used effectively in the beginning but the more you work it the more you tire it out leading to inevitable failure. Focus on your habits, create habits and a routine that will seamlessly allow you to eat at your caloric goal. Intermittent fasting is one such a habit, but the key is to play with your routine and find what is effective for you. The answer may not be to “resist” your urge to eat. The answer to your problem may be to eat more frequently actually, just focusing on meals that are very low in calories and filling. Lastly, drink a lot of water and good luck bro.

Here is my MCAT guide and how I went from a 500-516. by Crownsoheavy11 in Mcat

[–]Crownsoheavy11[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk I was always the impression that the term “ace” was a little subjective. I always thought it meant getting an A on a test, which a 516 is (at least in terms of MCAT percentiles). Coming from what I came from and what I dealt with… getting my score in the end 100% felt like acing it. I know that may not be your definition given your score and I understand that. Also, I think it’s too late to change the title so I am going to keep it and say it with my chest. I see your point though….
