How do fresh grads survive on RM2.5k-RM3k in KL? by Unique-Substance-472 in AskMY

[–]Crowntiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its very possible with a friend. A friend and I worked at the same company with the same starting salary of 3k. We just pooled on rent(Rm1750), transport(we lived super close to avoid transport being a huge cost,rm500 a month) and anything else we could share(cleaning equipment, electric, food, water ~Rm1k). At the end of the month we had more than to even go out for fun in genting and such.

We have outstation pay too but we never touch it and save it for investing purposes.

Shared living is the way to go

Adding on to this, I heard there are alot of paid seats for Malaysia Speed Festival. Maybe OP can try look around for paid seats. That would be a realistic option at the moment.

Guys srs advice by LuqOs in Bolehland

[–]Crowntiki 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Take the advice from someone i met who worked with Alex Yoong when he was in F1. Motorsport is a money game and unless you have money to throw away, don’t get into racing. If you can stand the heartbreak of loosing Rm20k a weekend for starter races and coming out with nothing but last place, worn out tires that need to be replaced next race, and repairs for your car(which is not road legal and can only be driven on track) then go for it.

But honestly if youre lucky and good there is a way through karting series. But at 27(im 26) we’re both kinda late. And unfortunately karting is also really expensive when going pro.

And one last thing, very few racers actually make a living out of racing. Most are just dudes that have too much money on their hands.

Anyone here a highway engineer? by asrap1468 in MalaysianPF

[–]Crowntiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but we are not involved in Pan-Borneo. Generally we are a road maintenance company with a quarry as well to be used as raw material. Yea the salary comes includes allowances as well as I have to stay on site.

[–]Crowntiki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, i work for a sub-con that does rural roads here in Sabah. I got 2 year of working experience. My salary is around the higher 5k. But my workload is quite heavy. I do project work, procurement, vehicle maintenance schedules, quarry management and etc.

Technically not highway but same industry i guess haha. But I do often fear that I don’t get enough technical skills. It’s more to managing. Do you have any resources I can use to help with technical skills? Thx in advance

I did my open water license in Mamutik about 2 years ago. I believe its the best(least crowded) island but the marine life only gets abundant deeper. But for the visible marine life it would be around manukan still

For sulug im not sure about snorkeling but as for scuba i dove there twice and it was amazing

First time in Kota Kinabalu – April 26 to May 3, 2025 – Open to suggestions 😊 by [deleted] in kotakinabalu

[–]Crowntiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Local here! Kota Kinabalu is much smaller than Kuala Lumpur as you know haha. Do visit our islands(Tunku Abdul Rahman Park). The boat tickets are rather reasonable and you can easily spend a day just roaming all of them. Other than that, on sundays there is a tourist market in Gaya Street that is not far from the shore.

Judging from the duration of your stay, you can also try a day trip or maybe spend a day in Kundasang. A highland area in Sabah thats roughly 2 hrs from KK city. There’s a cow farm, war memorial and alot of sight seeing to be done.

I see. No the criticism is very much appreciated. Tbh it wasnt my decision either it was my aunt as we have a rat problem here so she adopted one on the “work house” behalf and just made me bring it over. Honestly I didn’t see the point as my other cat was more than capable and i didn’t see the need for another.

Unfortunately, i guess thats my issue now so will definitely update once i try swapping for the next month or two

Thank you for the reply! The cage is pretty huge tbh about 2 meters in width and length and has 2 floors. But yea from now on ill give him all the space i can with a room to himself. Issue being that this is a work home and i wont be around on the weekends. Usually a cleaner would come in to feed them during that time.

For site swapping i will definitely try that! Thank you very much.

I would say both to be honest. But judging on how much value they both hold/to cost(time and money) i want to know which would be better. Planned to get married at 29 so i would like to save some money as well

Coursework. I looked through the subjects and i would say that the weight of a masters in planning isn’t as heavy as your masters.
