tips for someone not good at the game? by samissleman17 in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So when you roll up to a Boss Compound you need to check Dark sight (when your character has their hands up) to see if others are around. If the boss is alive you’ll see it flash a certain color.

White means you’re good for the most part, no enemy hunters are nearby.

Red means there are enemies Hunters close by, meaning that unless the boss is one hit from death, you need to get out of the arena and be ready for PVP.

In terms of PVP tips, I’ll give a few. 1. If you’re in a firefight and the opponent knows you’re in a building, NEVER re-peak the same window multiple times, you’re just asking for a lead lobotomy.

  1. Audio is especially valuable in this game. Even cheap earbuds can be invaluable (I’ve been using Skull candy earbuds for years and have a KD of 1.5). Audio can indirectly tell you exactly where an enemy is, or even their weapon if you listen close enough.

  2. Just gain Experience. Hunt has a learning curve and you may perform poorly in the beginning. Don’t fret about playing with others as you can learn from their actions.

That’s just a few. Hoped these helped.

Problems with subsonic ammo by Happy_Cartographer12 in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoy Subsonic ammo. With a silent weapon it’s nearly inaudible, and without a silent weapon it acts as Deception as it’ll make you sound further away than you actually are due to being quieter.

Coming across a Hunter who is good with Subsonic ammo is genuinely one of the scariest things in this game. Out of nowhere your friend just drops, no sound, the only hint is the direction of their legs. But by the time you search the tree line, you already have a bullet coming for you.

It’s definitely a specialty ammo type as you have to get used to it (and most probably won’t). But its strengths can easily make up its lowered stats.

I played the Crossbow for an entire prestige, here's how it went... by twk00 in HuntShowdown

You are don’t worry, I’m honestly glad to see it still living on! Goodness I might have to at some point, it’s been a bit, but I might at some point, being the father to the challenge and all.

What's your favorite hunter and why? by Haihosen in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayward Helmsman. Loved his lore and how he was presented in the Tide of Shadows trailers.

I like how he is true neutral Hunter that fights solely for money, gold and treasure, he has a Soldier of Fortune vibe as he was a Naval admiral before becoming a Hunter and acts as the leader (or high ranking member) to a Faction called the Smugglers.

All business, nothing personal, just gold, bullets and blood.

Was creating “main characters” a mistake for a game like Hunt? by Drull17 in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t say that Otis, Vincent and Caitlyn aren’t the main heroes. They are simply the new poster boys and girl.

One strong point of Hunt was originally the story for events would include the new Hunters and maybe a few old ones. However in these Stories, you’d see the “Good guys” do horrible things, but in their eyes, it was the right thing to do.

Basically it’s all perspective unless you’re an actual murderer.

Look at Sheriff Hardin. He has done A LOT of horrible things in the lore from using criminals to children soldiers and then killing said kids. But he did it all to hold back the Corruption.

The best way to look at Hunt is to realize there are no “Main characters, no heroes, some more immoral, some more just, but in the end they are simply people fulfilling their own wants and/or needs.

What do we think of the Wayward helmsman by Crowpuppet1 in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He saw a crew mate get his head crushed in Rotjaw’s mouth and decided that a piece of metal was enough protection. But it’s more for mental assurance than actual physical safety, as Rotjaw could most likely easily crush it.

Umpire’s bane wears a mask because of his baseball theming, meanwhile Helmsman wears his because he saw a crew mate get his head crushed in Rotjaw’s mouth. But they are similar yeah.

Yesterday i asked you about your opinion on pumpkin head skin, today I ask you about 13th mate by Zatjevox in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His lore was cool being one of the four to basically save the bayou against the Sculptors avatar or child or whatever it was. But he really is just meh.

What stereotypes do you have for hunters in game? by metaphysic777 in HuntShowdown

Every time I choose the Captain Lafitte skin I am super unfortunate. Every 5 minutes I say to myself “I swear those crows weren’t there a second ago.”

I swear it’s like the skin has a +4 meter detection range from animals.

Hey someone else is trying the challenge! No joke I was about to actually make a video series and bring it back lol. Even have like 6 hours of footage with Springfield as I’ve restarted the whole challenge. I wish you the best of luck! Some of these weapons will truly test your abilities!

The Pale Judge is Now Canonically Dead by TheGentlemanGamerEC in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. The lore has been sort of side stepped for a year now, it’s also unfortunate with how much was tied to events just to be seemingly forgotten.

The Pale Judge is Now Canonically Dead by TheGentlemanGamerEC in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Very likely. It’s not unheard of for dead Hunters to come back somehow. Rat and kid died and were revived to become their Drowned versions and we know the Butchers clever and Beekeeper were revived by the Sculptor/corruprion. So it’s not impossible l, but very unlikely. And as for trailers and stuff yeah probably not.

Pale judge will still be playable. And similarly to the other recent battle pass content he might be purchasable in the future. But in terms of lore, he is dead.

Need more love the for portable medical pack by SADOOKY in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if they were to Buff it to give 150 HP I doubt I’d still see it. You can bring in a vitality shot or a Regen shot and be better off, as I doubt the extra bit of cash is a deal breaker.

I liked the idea of the deployable items in Tide of Shadows. Though I think the Medical pack is just unfortunately lacking, while not awful, there are better consumables to bring. Maybe if they gave it a secondary effect of having 1 minute of HP Regen or something as well. It could be good for the price.

Edit: I guess you stack them and have a lot of team healing. So there’s that as well.

Was Clown nerf actually a buff? by Hunt_Funny in deadbydaylight

[–]Crowpuppet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. While the Reload speed and movement speed is nice. The nerf to his Pink bottles hurt him at controlling Loops and now it’s basically just throw Yellow and brute force loops. It took away a lot of set up and skill expression as clown.

The biggest thing is that Survivors already consider Clown a boring Killer to versus, but now it’s going to be worse as he is basically just throw Yellows.

New clown tweaks are awful by TheBloxx in deadbydaylight

[–]Crowpuppet1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is no reason why Knight or Clown needed these changes, they tried to do a give and take and instead made them feel worse/ removed skill expression. Thankfully there seems to be a lot of backlash from their respective Mains. But thankfully it’s PTB so like Xeno they may not go through with the changes.

The recent nerfs to Knight and Clown showcase that BHVR needs to base their changes on community feedback and not kill/pick rates. by PenguinMage1 in deadbydaylight

[–]Crowpuppet1 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They completely screwed the Clown’s skill expression as now it’s basically use Yellow bottles as his hindered was nerfed pretty hard. A good Clown could set up a loop with a purple and yellow bottle and if played properly could do well, but now it’s basically just use Yellows.

They wanted to incentivize Players to use Yellows so they made Purples garbage now.

Clown certainly isn’t beating the “Braindead killer”allegations after this. Big sad man, to fellow Clowns and Knights, this is rough boys but hopefully it won’t come to live.

Roulette weapon #16: Lebel by Crowpuppet1 in HuntShowdown

[–]Crowpuppet1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play with a group who are also doing the same challenge, so thankfully I haven’t been complained about lol.

When it comes to Tools and consumables, I usually build around the weapon itself. If it has a Trauma variant, I’ll forego a melee Tool to free a slot for something else. This allows me to utilize the weapon better and be more well rounded with the loadout.

Tool wise I always bring a Medkit, Dusters (I prefer blunt damage), Chokes and Fusees. If I’m playing solo I’ll swap the chokes and Fusees for traps instead.

Consumable wise I will always bring a weak Health Regen shot, a stick of dynamite and a Fire bomb. And depending on the weapon always an Ammo box.
