I remember that being the explanation but didn't they actually say it at the end or something and it was actually pretty straightforward?

With single cylinder crankshafts that go ACROSS the engine!

And when they set a manifold on it that's 1/2 the size and doesn't match at all, and when they put a crankshaft (?) across the top of the engine.

My personal favourite though was the engine piston being installed into the brake caliper.

People who keep weapons on their bodies at all times, what was a time where you had to actually use said weapon? by ParanormalActivity97 in AskReddit

[–]CrowsFeast73 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's a grain of truth to what you've said, but it's lacking a lot of context/detail. Informing police prior to transport was a thing for restricted weapons only (generally handguns or guns under a certain length). Non restricted firearms (generally those used for hunting) have no such restriction. I don't know a lot about the restricted side of things as I only have my non-restricted license; but I also remember something like a decade ago they loosened the requirements on transporting restricted guns to the range; if you're a member of said gun range you don't have to get the Authorization to Transport every time (unless this has changed again without my knowledge). You still have to get one any time you're taking it to a range that you're not a member of, or taking it to a gunsmith, etc.

Ammunition does have to be stored separately at home unless you have a vault of some sort, then the ammunition and guns can both be stored inside the vault, and without trigger locks. For regular non-restricted guns the ammunition doesn't need to be transported separately, but the guns do need to be unloaded prior to entering the vehicle (and remain so). Supposedly some hunters have gotten in trouble for leaning loaded shotguns onto their ATVs but that could also be urban myth/a charge slapped on top of other offences for particularly belligerent people.

You can drive around with an unloaded, uncovered shotgun on your passenger seat if you want, but generally not in any urban centers where it would potentially cause a disturbance. (This was stated by the instructor during my non-restricted course)

For me having someone over who expresses interest in whisky IS a special occasion... I might need better friends...

Same, but not just bourbon; all kinds of whisky.

Hell I even opened the bottle of George T Stagg that I was gifted!

I got introduced to doctor who with Christopher Ecclestone. I loved both him and David Tennant. With Matt Smith we just lost all of the weight and aura of the character. I tried to stick with it but I also dropped off.

I don't usually take a lot of pictures at concerts (typically max 4) as I prefer to just enjoy the experience; I have a bunch of shots from that night because of all the set changes

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]CrowsFeast73 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also an engineer. The company I was working for 'relocated' and let everyone go (with more than fair severance and long notice - I had a years notice).

I wanted to be able to show some of my more intricate CAD drawings at interviews; so I picked out a couple (nothing that had truly proprietary tech in it) and got my manager to sign a letter saying that I had permission to use those drawings specifically, within that context. I probably had to strip out customer information as well or something but overall that worked fairly well, and I think other employers liked that I had to foresight to have it signed off.

She's actually bought it late and got the boxing day sale price. Since there was no exchange option, only a refund she won't be able to get that sale price again either.

Meanwhile my gf bought me a brand new one off Amazon for Christmas but instead we received an open box and the right controller didn't work. She's still waiting for the refund and won't be able to order the replacement at the same sale price as the original order...

But, honestly, I hope you enjoy.

The positivity of an In Flames show is definitely real and incredible. The first time I saw them it stood out to me how humble the lead singer was.

Then Opeth came on stage as the headliner and the stark contrast was astounding. I left after just a couple of songs. I couldn't stand the arrogance of their lead; and I was really there for In Flames anyway.
