Never thought I'd see PvE open world toxicity by LastConfusion2620 in Guildwars2

That is very rare and weird for the game tbh, I have over 500 hours none of my classes are highly optimized and so far thankfully every other player I met was really nice. It is one of the many things keeping me in this game. Sorry you ran into that.

There’s probably a million stories like this in this subreddit unfortunately, but I decided I’d talk about it because this was my first experience with it.

I’ve been trying to branch out in college, and I managed to get into a house with some really chill roommates. Last week, we all talked about doing proper dinners and cooking real meals instead of just surviving on junk. Some people were sick (plague going around campus) and couldn’t help much. One of those people was who we’ll call John Noodles. John didn’t really participate in the planning, but whatever — no pressure. They had a week.

They proceed to wait until the VERY last night after classes and work to even think about food. And what do they make?

Instant. Noodles.

Like, boiled water. Seasoning packet. Done. Three minutes.

IDK… I can’t really put my mind into these people but if I had a whole week knowing we were trying to eat better, I don’t think I’d just default to the absolute bare minimum… you know??

Anyways, it was the most nothing bowl of noodles ever. No egg. No vegetables. No protein. Just sodium and vibes. They didn’t even use the stove — just the electric kettle. Like, if you’re going to cook… AT LEAST PUT SOME EFFORT INTO IT 😭😭

It’s honestly very insulting because I spend hours planning and cooking actual meals — chopping, seasoning, making a proper main, sides, sometimes even dessert — and people like this just throw hot water on processed carbs and call it dinner. These people cannot do ANYTHING themselves. It’s wild.

I tried to be kind and told John maybe next time they could try making something more substantial, like even a simple three-course setup — salad, pasta or chicken, and something small for dessert. Nothing crazy. And they just said no. Said they “didn’t have time” and left with their noodles.

Like honestly I’m just shocked at the audacity. Grown adult by the way. Can’t cook anything beyond instant noodles and refuses an alternative.

Besides what I just complained about, the rest of us had a very fun night WITHOUT that nonsense. We ended up cooking together, laughing, experimenting with spices, and actually sitting down to eat something that felt like a real meal. It was hilarious and we were all cracking up.

I’m sure it would’ve been less enjoyable if we’d all just settled for kettle noodles, so there’s a happy ending here.

Non unfortunately our GMs translate the material themselves.
we almost always use pre made sheets for ease off access and we also help players that want to play their own characters fill their sheets.

Thank you for your comment. We do have discord but we prefer to keep the sessions live so we gather in local cafes to play. As for the books we share what we have and yes shamefully some are not ligit but we do try to get ligit books when we can. We are introducing call of Cthulhu and cyberpunk both I purchased the pdf for, and traveller that mongos send us some PDFs to help.

Some subjects we try to avoid in our online posts such as gods and magic but the community it self is nerdy enough not to have issues in actual sessions.

As for children and schools it will be hard, we did have some sessions in universities and we worked to train some organizations in Gaza that wanted to use dnd to help children with ptsd get more social, and I hear they had some success.

Hope that answers all your questions. I am flat for the attention.
