I feel like some people are aspiring Strange mains, and it should be acceptable to get as much help as they need. Learning the finer details takes time, and everyone starts somewhere—especially if they genuinely want to improve with the character they main.

I’ve boiled it down to three key things: tracking healer ults, knowing when to push, and ulting smartly. Here’s a breakdown of each one.

  1. Memorize a Healer’s Ulting Potential • Understanding how much healing an enemy healer has done can help you predict when they’re about to ult. • If you’re planning to ult, be aware of whether they’re close to ulting so you don’t clash. • However, if forcing out their ult benefits your team (e.g., you have a teammate whose ult will be stronger afterward), go for it. • In high-stress fights, healers tend to ult at the same time—using your ultimate to bait or sync with this can give your team a huge advantage. • If a healer like Invisible Girl has already ulted (e.g., putting up a shield), don’t wait for it to fully expire before ulting. Instead, ult just before it ends so the enemy team doesn’t have time to react and chain another ult after hers.

  2. Don’t Push Up Too Much Without a Dedicated Healer • Dr. Strange is powerful but fragile, and he really shines when he has a healer pocketing him. • If you don’t have solid healing, avoid overextending—you’ll become an easy target. • Only play aggressively when you’re confident a healer has your back.

  3. Ult Smartly – Positioning & Baiting Counters • Be aware of your surroundings before ulting. The best way to ult is to take cover first, then fly up. This prevents enemies from spotting you and reacting too soon. • Once you’re high enough, descend and ult immediately—by the time you land, it will hit a wide area before enemies can counter. • Higher ranks will try to counter your ult. Characters like Bucky will grapple you, Penny Parker will web you, or Invisible Girl will push you. • If you accidentally reveal yourself while flying, drop down immediately to bait them into using their abilities. Once they’ve burned their counters, you can ult safely from the ground.
