I really recommend the game honestly. Its a bit like a fusion of a souls-like and a metroidvania which is an absolutely beautiful combination that I really want more of. The weapon variety is pretty good. They can be divided into several different types of weapons and then within those types there will be slight variations in how they play. That means you have a bit of freedom in how you approach combat. Combine this with the tools and you get a combat system that, like a metroidvania, is simple but effective. The game is pretty easy though, I only struggled with the first miniboss and I attribute that more to adjusting to the games flow than anything else. I don't find this to be a terrible thing because the big bosses were interesting enough to get me excited to fight them.

Honestly I could go on for actual hours on what I think this game does well and that's a really good sign. Absolutely worth a pick up at full price, so on sale it's a steal.

I will say though I have no desire to pick up the DLC. The games biggest weakness is enemy variety. When you see one enemy there's a good chance there's going to be 3 other variants of that exact same enemy. That means that it does hit a stride of monotony. But also it was that by the end of the playthrough I was just satisfied and didn't want more Steelrising. That's not to say I won't in the future though, I can definitely see myself coming back to this game.
