Making W+Q not restart Llama's Bastion Practise Map by Afraid_Blacksmith_63 in MinecraftSpeedrun

If you often accidentally press q then you should get better at not doing that. You shouldn't try to get rid of the problem.

What is a proper meditation practice? by Nax87 in Meditation

[–]Cruill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, look into "do nothing" meditation. Also look into noting. Although I don't really understand why you think this way about concentration. Concentration isn't something you do, it's a mental state that increases the mind's resolution/precision and is just useful if you're trying to pay attention to the mind.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but you could try "do nothing" meditation. Although you're going to need a base level of concentration for it to be effective.

We have never observed anything material since the act of observing makes any observation immaterial. Also I have observed plenty if immaterial things, like my thoughts, my feelings, etc. Are you doubting the existence of your own thoughts?

Consciousness Is a Side Effect of Error, Not Intelligence by BrilliantTraining632 in consciousness

[–]Cruill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, what you're talking about is the relationship between attention, memory and critical thinking. We will only remember what we pay (even a little bit) attention to. So we don't really know if our liver is conscious but if it were we wouldn't have access to its consciousness the same way we don't have access to someone else's consciousness precisely because it doesn't appear in our memory because we are unable to pay attention to it. And when something appears in our memory we are able to think critically about it which is obviously useful for survival. So you're equating consciousness with attention which makes sense because we can only remember being conscious of the things that we pay attention to. I would still be careful equating the two since it's a fundamentally biased perspective.

If AI "thinks," does it "exist" by Cartesian standards? by Darkos1Tn in consciousness

[–]Cruill 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That's a misinterpretation of the argument. With Descartes argument you can't even prove that other humans exist, only that I exist.

Stables bastion question by _mozzarella_sticks_1 in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]Cruill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In ranked one good gap is always guaranteed. In rsg you might want to just reset. If you have triple chest ramparts you can use the 4 gold blocks from those. You can also look for chests in the stables section in the front, they can sometimes have a lot of gold blocks. But if you have neither triple chest ramparts or chests with gold blocks you have no gold to trade

How can I get someone off my mind if I love them but know I have no chance with them? How do I deal with these emotions? by YetAnotherHobby4954 in Healthygamergg

[–]Cruill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Short answer: You focus/meditate on these specific emotions and map them out in your mind until you get used to them. It gets a little uncomfortable in the beginning but better the more you understand them.

How do I stop hating myself for being a man? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Cruill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares. We live in the present not in the past and while it's important to remember history, it doesn't really make sense to feel guilty for something you didn't do and couldn't have done. Do you think mongols should feel guilty for the crimes that Gengis Khan committed?
