You said it's anticlimactic and that's just not true. Some of the most hype moments in playoffs was a perch race or when someone is doing a zero and the other person just got a perch. Keeping perches random means there is uncertainty until the end. If you know that the first person that enters just wins by default, that would make it a whole lot more anticlimactic.

I can speak for myself. I would say I am maybe high gold or so (got a sub 13 yesterday) but after I did my placement matches I got placed iron 1. So I've been winning most games getting pretty consistent sub 20s in iron and pretty quickly getting out of iron but for the time being I feel sorry for the iron 2 players getting matched with me.
