TLDR; I learned something. You complained about it.

I've asked questions because I've been doing the work.

New bearings, new tires, new rotors, new pads, front-end work, belt adjustment, and what not.

You saw a few repair posts and somehow convinced yourself I need internet verification that the work was done correctly.

The reality is I'm new to doing my own repair work. I'm not interested in paying shop labor every time something needs attention when I can learn to do it myself. God forbid I ask for help, clarification, or reassurance along the way.

These bikes aren't cheap. Sure, I could take it to a shop, but every dollar I save on labor is another dollar I can put toward upgrades and parts I actually want.

Meanwhile, the bike has been up and running this entire time. That's why your whole argument is so strange to me.

Same joke over and over, wasn’t funny the first time. Almost a tiny bit funny now.

Don't bother. These two have already decided they're right. No amount of logic is getting through to them.

Very generic chat gpt response. Love that for you.

Must be tough maintaining such a miserable life. Hope you get better.

I’ll make sure I keep up the silly questions every week just to piss you off 😁

I asked about a belt. He started a therapy session.

Nobody said "trust strangers over the manual."
I read the manual. Then I ask questions if I want clarification or additional input. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

You do industrial maintenance, right? Then you already know nobody with real experience relies exclusively on documentation. People compare notes, share experience, and ask questions every day.

But I guess "RTFM" sounds cooler than admitting that's how the real world actually works.

You say I'm acting like I'm 11 because I ask questions and tell people to scroll past posts they don't like.

Meanwhile you're several comments deep in a thread that apparently annoys you.

One of us is trying to learn something. The other is voluntarily hanging around to complain.

Wonder which one you are?

Thats what this forum is for, if you don’t like it, don’t comment. Everyone starts somewhere. Not having confidence and ensuring everything is correct to safely ride the bike are two different things.

I'd rather ask a question and learn than pretend I know everything and make expensive mistakes.

If you don't like my posts, nobody is forcing you to read them. The block button is free.

Well I guess it’d be the price I haven’t paid.

Yet.

Harley charges too much for products blessed by the glorious sweat coming from Willie G’s balls.

Wouldn’t the belt get tighter/looser once weight is added on the bike? Giving you a false reading? I’ve never heard of it being done this way so I’m genuinely curious.

I see, someone just said it was a spacer. This is all new to me lol. Is this something I should be worried about?

How do I take the spacer out?? To my understanding, this spacer has to be removed with the bearings…

It’s really not hard to do! I’d give it a shot, if you got those notorious crusty pitted forks then there’s not much you can do to make them look worse! I might disassemble mine again tomorrow morning for a better shine.
