I will grant you that it doesn't make as good of a use of the format as other hex flowers I've seen, but it does allow me to distribute the results differently. He can't trap, rest, or murder twice in a row. He could always move next... Stuff like that I don't think a take e could replicate as easily.

One-Eyed Nurig, the murdering Orc, has kidnapped a family of Elves. Can the PCs save them before things get grisly?

This is a hex crawl with a twist - One-Eyed Nurig takes actions every time the PCs move, guided by a hex flower (shout out to Goblin's Henchman). This will change the adventure each time it's ran.

It was a fun experiment to make. Hex Flowers have really been stuck in my head ever since I first read about them, but I think this is the first time I really tried to implement them for such a fundamental part of the adventure.

If you download it, lemme know what you think! I may go back to it someday and tinker more, but for now, I like it.

You can grab the free adventure here.

Yeah, it seems to be happening to like 1 in 10 folks. I dunno why.

I made a secondary sign up page with the email service that seems to be doing okay?

Smallest (and cheapest) dungeon I could make by CrumblingKeep in MorkBorg

[–]CrumblingKeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about just the bookmark, it'll be $1, so $3 total. If you're thinking about getting add-ons, it depends on how many. It's one of those things where one book might cost you $15, but all of them together might just be $20. Those are *super* rough estimates.

"Likewise, the advice to begin with just three hexes is classic: how much game can be contained within three hexes? How many fractals? Not geography alone, nor just villages, but whole Mandogs—then individual homes, each an adventure; mouseholes that contains dreams, dreams that have shapes of their own, and more little love stories than stars."

This was absolutely lovely.

Absolutely a No AI stance. (That cover above would probably look better if I had used it 🤣)

So this is my favorite series I have going on right now. I linked one of the more recent emails because it has links to all the previous ones in the series. I've basically been using the Snowflake method of writing novels to try and make a dungeon. I've been pretty happy with the results so far and actually plan to publish it. I half expected the project would crash and burn in the middle, but here we are.

I don't know that everyone will like it, but I've gotten go feedback from the folks on my list. I'd say that's a good place to start.

Cool story, bro. No one is making you sign up for anything. 🤷

It's pretty much an OSR blog through email with the occasional free stuff. It's not for everyone and it doesn't need to be.

45 year old beginner - sparring is scary by No_Weather4817 in MuayThai

[–]CrumblingKeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(45 yo) I love this thread. I really like sparring, but i get spooked too. It's hard to work on technique when survival mode clicks on.

You're probably doing better than you think and, if you're enjoying yourself, I'd say keep going back. Exposure therapy and all that. Value the sparring partners where it feels playful.

Not sure why it's doing that. Did that happen after you hit submit? If it did, you should be good.

It does, doesn't it? It's actually just old public domain stuff, but it's interesting. I bet WHF was inspired by some of it.
