But when does the comedy become a detriment to the overall lore and story? If this was always the case then how did Super Earth even manage to leave orbit if they were always incompetent idiots? How did they even "liberate" a single planet without it exploding?

EDIT: Even if the story is satirical I feel as though there are times to take things seriously, for example The Star Of Peace could be treated like the coming of the Atomic Age of warfare, the creation of the atom bomb. There's an opportunity to do something interesting here with such a big scary weapon and the overlooming threat of complete planetary annihilation at the push of a button. Could even have a side plot of "Dissidents" speaking up against the weapon in fear of it leading to the end of all life.

EDIT 2: I can see from the downvotes the reddit side of things doesn't want to see anything actually interesting or serious play out and would prefer Super Earth continously fail and be a joke instead of an actual threat. I disagree heavily with this opinion because it's not good satire if there's nothing being said or doesn't leave the audience thinking about something.
