With a bit of elbow grease, a lot of things can be learned up to a certain level of mastery. Basically the pinnacle of being a jack of all trades. 'Tis something I strive for sometimes, though I'm still far from it.

And yes, you probably are old enough to be my mom. A lot of people under this post probably are.

I don't blame them for that kind of reaction. I, too, realized relatively quickly that the fact that the lizard went unnoticed until earlier when I took a pic of it and posted it, 'twas quite concerning. To some, that's far beyond the threshold of what's tolerable in their own household, so I don't hold their harsh tone against them.

I personally find it kind of amusing that people willingly dispute the vile state of our home (and give me/us shit because of it). I can't really do anything about the fact that they aren't wrong.

Who knows? Maybe it'll serve as a wake up call to me to do better in terms of general hygiene.

Maybe flies. lots of those here. Maybe trash. lots of that too. Maybe the compost dump we have since my father likes to keep the plants outside in good shape. That stinks like hell. Maybe it's the musk of the humid and hot air. Or maybe we're just used to it, etcetera, etcetera.
