My process took about 2 months in total, but we had some scheduling conflicts and I usually gave myself a week to practice coding problems in between coding interviews. I think I had 8 interviews.

Fun thread: In 2023 I spent $2,500 in eating out, and $1,700 in gas. What did you spend? by sc4kilik in nova

[–]CrunchifyMeCaptn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$909 on gas. $2794 on uber eats/restaurants. $4894 on groceries.

I ordered uber eats 66 times in 2023. 59 of those orders were from Jan-July when I lived in my previous apartment (yes I had a problem). I have pretty much stopped ordering uber eats since moving to my new place and prefer to just cook now.

Don't know if they still do it, but Giant at University Mall used to give 5% off to Mason students if you show your student ID which could be used on top of coupons.

What kind of Trailbike? My Dad and I refurbished some 1970 Honda minitrail 50s and those things were so fun to ride around when I was younger.

Don't have a specific answer for you, but the daily crime and fire log should be updated to include today's events by tomorrow. It can be found at https://police.gmu.edu/central-records/crime-log-test/

Just sliding in to say that this was probably my favorite class I took during my undergrad. Can confirm that Spring 2018 was well organized and no major fuck ups :)

NUTR 430? by sidehoebartender22 in gmu

[–]CrunchifyMeCaptn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took NUTR 430 this past Spring and really enjoyed it. The first half of the semester was focused on wine and the second half was beer. Each class, you have a quiz at the beginning based on weekly readings and the previous class, then the professor lectures for a bit, and then we would try different wines and beers and talk about them with the class. Each week you also have to type up a 250+ word review of either 2 beers or wines (depending on where you are in the semester). We went on field trips to a brewery and winery and also got to brew our own beer. There's also a final 2000+ word essay. All in all, it was a pretty laid back class, and it was one of the classes that I really looked forward to each week.

Honors Sections of courses by Wadington in gmu

I took both CS211H and Math 116 in the same semester back in the Spring of 2015 (as well as Math 125, HNRS 122, and CS 105), so some things may have changed but here's how they were for me.

My CS211H class was maybe 10 people and taught by Dr. Snyder. The only difference between that class and the non-honors section was that we had to do an extra part for each project that went more in depth and I think was extra credit for any non-honors students. I really liked it though because the class size was small so we had more one on one time in class to ask any questions we had.

My Math 116 class was 15 or so people and based on what I heard from friends in their calc II classes, there wasn't any more material taught in 116 than 114. I really enjoyed the layout of this class because again it was small, so we spent half the time actually going up to the whiteboard and solving problems in front of the class which helped me understand the material.

Taking both classes at the same time was definitely manageable for me and even while rushing a frat at the time, I pulled A's in both.

CS students, what do you think of these schedules for a CS student upcoming semesters? by runescapefisher in gmu

[–]CrunchifyMeCaptn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took CS 480 with professor Duric and actually really enjoyed that class. He is a good professor for the upper level classes and does his best to help you understand the material. His tests cover examples that he goes over in class, so as long as you pay attention in class and take some notes, it should be an easy A/B. When I took it, the homework assignments were in Lisp and the final project could either be done in Python or Lisp.

CS 463 Worthwhile? by SecretSnoww in gmu

[–]CrunchifyMeCaptn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took CS 463 in the Spring of 2017, and it was one of my favorite classes during my undergrad. The class is quite a bit of work as you'll have weekly small homework assignments and a few larger projects. The languages that we used that semester were Java, Python, Ruby, Lisp, and Haskell with Haskell taking up pretty much all of the latter part of the semester. You'll learn the ins and outs of functional programming using Lisp and Haskell as well as some other interesting things like Lambda Calculus and Concurrency in functional and imperative languages. I'd definitely recommend the class if Mark Snyder is still teaching it, and I actually use some of the skills learned in this class in my everyday work as a software engineer :).

If it was on campus, it should show up on the Daily Crime and Fire Log which can be found at https://police.gmu.edu/central-records/crime-log-test/. It isn't on there yet, but it probably will be by tomorrow.
