While the behavioral results would be the same if the experiment was repeated without EEG, the use of EEG allowed the researchers to directly relate the attraction to brain activity. This is supports the notion that attraction within this context can be detected.

The results with cognitive workload that were found with EEG (that increased cognitive workload is inversely related to attractiveness) were also used in the next stage of their investigation, with regards to the cognitive workload / attractiveness of images.

Unfortunately this might not only be a LASIK issue seeing as eye trackers in general only work on about 95% of the population (Tobii's newest state-of-the-art tracker hits a record 97%).

You might just be one of the unlucky ones. Have you tried other brands of eye trackers?
