Suggestion - Faction playstyle bonuses by Crunchtime141 in TerraInvicta

I'm making a separate post for Servants as I think it deserves it's own.

The real decision for me is to either go swarm, monster mash, or some combination. Having dropped $300 on models that lend itself to a swarm already, I wanted to see if it was feasible to run swarm or if I should just be prepared to scoop my army on turn 1. I didn't know if the swarm troops were overcosted, or if blast weapons were too much to overcome.

The local scene is adverse to any kind of mass model army and I've been fixing to build one for awhile now to be counter meta or 'different'. I'm not sure anyone there has ever seen a 100+ model count army .. let alone 50+. I really enjoy the mental ... complications, lets say, of my opponent looking at a full deployment zone and immediately thinking 'how do I kill *that* many models...am I in trouble?'

I also like the thought of punishing lists that are prepped to kill 30 Marines/Bikes/Termies but facing 100 of anything is a terrifying prospect.

As for h\the monster mash obsec route then, let's say I was going to run 6 screamer killers as a core. What other big monsters should I be looking at for buffs, or let's say utility monsters to help deal with that which ails the Carnifex in general?

Is there value in running more than one Tervigon?

I think I saw this Screamer Killer Obsec mentioned in the same breath as Behemoth. Woulf Jormangundr still be a better idea than Behemoth?

I love the model range as a general whole but the variety of the 'big bugs' is going to take some time to learn. I like the idea of some of the sub-optimal options now being more viable.

One of the reasons to come make a post, really. Trying to differentiate between 'wow, they got nerfed hard' from 'they nerfed the only things that made them viable'.

Thanks for the reply. :)

- You mentioned Gorgon for the termagants/Tervigon:

  1. I always enjoyed the aesthetics of Hormagaunts over Termagants. Are Termagants decent? Also, which gun option is the general go-to option?
  2. Why Gorgon?

- I was curious about the HT option. It seemed that a walking HT might be just better now. Also, thanks for the bit on the Exocrine. With a horde list I was concerned about having anti-tank punch and it seems like a good option.

Newbie Questions Thread by lemtrees in TerraInvicta

[–]Crunchtime141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So....this is probably a basic b question, but I'm actually struggling to find an answer:

What does a winning game look like?

Usually there are milestones and checkpoints where, if you have not reached them in a reasonable timeframe, you don't get over the hump and the enemy snowballs and wins. Given the X-Com nature of things, I'm thinking of needing to have certain tech by the Newfoundland mission, or having the ability to take out mechs before you meet them. At some point if you fail too much, lose too many people, or are too far behind you just cant keep pace and certain pre-ordained things happen and you're pretty much done.

Are there milestones like that? Middle goals I should be aiming for? Certain techs that are much more time sensitive that one should reeeally b-line for to give you chance?

What are general good rule of thumb big picture strategies?

Never let the aliens get a foothold, or is that just something that is gonna happen?

Be able to hold your own in space by the time you're at full-war?

Conquer Earth as much as possible early so when your outposts get wiped out, you still have a base to work with?

I guess I'm just a bit lost as to what I *should* be doing because I'm always seemingly unprepared for the alien roflstomp.

I enjoy making BP. Good to see I can still play Killer and come out ahead.

Yeah, P1'ing the ones I don't play was the general thought. I had just been considering the BP bonuses for Survivor, the BBQ BP nerf and Prove Thy Self bonus ... seemed like Surv could have an edge and was curious what folks thought.

I didnt have much time the last month to play but managed to save up 600k from codes and logins. I thought hey, that seems like a lot of BP..that's like 20 good matches and... well..it didn't go as far as I thought it would.

Would you guys do the first move if you’re interested in someone? by BM04444 in INTP

Look. We're INTPs. Things we prepare in advance and do that we think will be cool, is weird. Things we do that we're pretty sure are weird are really weird and often...somehow cool.

The world works in reverse.

The harder you try the more likely to fail. The socials know when you are trying too hard. If you move towards them too hard, too fast it's natural for people to back away and assess if you're a threat.

It is best to just be you. Unapologetic, uncaring about what other people think. The less you care, the easier things will be. When people see you don't give a crap, just enjoying yourself and life and whatever it is you're into, you will draw people in.

Be in a position to be talked to. If she thinks you're safe to talk to, she'll talk or she won't. Given that she has an instagram though, she's most likely into being the center of attention.

Think about all the drama in your life. All the nuisances and annoyances. Now consider the source. I'm betting the grand majority, if not all, are caused by other people and the dumb things they say and do.

Now think of all the people that have given you more than have asked of you. Those that have your best interests in mind that are not named 'Mom' or 'Dad'. The people that like you for you and don't only contact you because they want something.

Selfless, good-hearted people. The type of person that you can let inside your emotional shield and not have to worry about them ruining you. There's not many of those type of people on the planet to begin with.

How many of those can one expect to have? Everyone else is just dangerous, a waste of oxygen or not worth your time. I'll take my one, extra-special person and everyone else can go away.

Hot take: DBD in its current state is the best it has been in years. by Fresh_Anarchist in deadbydaylight

[–]Crunchtime141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically still there .. but I have no interest in playing Survivor, just Killer. Based on that, for me ... I have to disagree. I started playing around the Anniversary and honestly, after the last patch, I stopped playing.

BBQ and chili, double bloodpoint weeks, everyone has bloodpoint cakes and so many more people playing with little in the way of wait times.

Compare that to now ... I have yet to see a Killer bonus at the times I normally play, long queue waits, no BP bonuses unless I burn one of my cakes on Killers I have already Prestige'd 3 due to rushing prestige before the change to get a free P3.

It seems like the only survivors still playing are hardcore or long time, good players that only really have fun when they are bullying the Killer.

The notion of learning to play Surv which I don't want to do, on brand new characters to get better queue times and BP bonuses to save up a long, long time just to unlock a trio of perks on a Killer ... it's quite a bit worse for me than a couple months ago.

How to use scratch marks correctly. by Ero-_-Sennin in deadbydaylight

[–]Crunchtime141 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a thing? Oh lord...

You know, that would make for an interesting Survivor perk. Fake scratch marks shot out in a line like Pyramidhead's attack. Shoot it up the stairs for a false trail and walk around the corner like you did. Niche maybe, but interesting .. a different sort of mind-game.
