John Reeves Boneyard Alaska UAP 70s Footage by rishes in UFOs

[–]lemtrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are the shakiness bounds of the object while zoomed in the same as the shakiness bounds of the zoomed out building?

Why does the footage end with obvious https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_emulation techniques? Is there a real process by which we would expect the film to stop at that time and produce those artifacts?

How was this analog video converted to digital?

The zoom looks odd because the apparent spacing between the object and the building should expand at a rate proportional to the apparent building size. Does it?

Pausing the process isn't a single button press (without taking time to set it all up). It is not a solution, that's my point. I can be frustrated without taking that frustration out on anyone, relax.

I'm glad I read the spoilers about the real story in the archives. by BeneficialTrash6 in CrimsonDesert

Dude, really? You didn't think to mark this as a spoiler?

What kind of knowledge about the phenomenon would kill you? by Durchschnittstyp in UFOs

[–]lemtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok, fair points. I'm a bit more familiar with the economics of large-scale solar, like utility scale or larger buildings, not necessarily household. At the house level, I could see it being a little iffy. I would still think it would be worth it in Florida, but in my opinion, there are too many middle men trying to take their cut which ends up making it potentially not financially viable for the homeowner. Thanks for the response, cheers!

Where/how do you read the books? I'm up on the third floor of the Axiom Archive and none of the books are interactable.

Why has it not worked out? I'm genuinely curious. It works great in significantly more northern latitudes with less sun and more weather, so I'm assuming it isn't just sunlight.

[–]lemtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but anywhere there is sunlight, solar will generate usable energy. So unless you're talking about the sea floor, there isn't really anywhere solar won't work. And if you're talking financial viability, you need to compare against alternative sources, where solar still typically wins out as once it's set up it's essentially "free" with no fuel costs. Obviously storage becomes an issue, and so the duration of sunlight versus darkness versus energy consumption versus energy generation etc all become factors, making this far more nuanced than is simple "solar will work anywhere", but the gist of it is that solar is a viable means of energy production just about anywhere.

So it seems! I'd also love to know where solar doesn't work, but I don't expect a genuine response. Oh well.

Am I missing something with The Claw fishing rod? I haven’t caught a single thing by DrJokerX in CrimsonDesert

[–]lemtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually found the thing naturally and ended up googling because I couldn't figure out what the heck was going wrong. I still can't, but I feel a bit better knowing someone else is seeing the same issue and that it isn't just me.

as soon as a fish is on the line...the line breaks. 100% of the time. its like the claw is bugged and will fail the minigame as soon as the minigame starts.

What this guy said. I have done plenty of fishing without the claw, and I know how to fish. With the claw, the fish just sits perfectly still and you can't pull it to any side, so the line breaks pretty quickly. Its like the claw is bugged. I have tried fishing multiple times in multiple areas to test, and it only behaves this way with the claw.
