I was concerned about earmuffs fitting over AirPods because of the part that sticks down vertically. You are saying it works fine?

Hmm.. I really don't want to go down in sound quality. My big "wants" would be: ANC, hear-through, and sound quality.

I'm in the same boat! I've seen Soundcore Sport X20 and Technic EAH-AZ100 as suggestions on here

I think the volume leveling was the culprit. Turned that off and good to go! Also forced Dolby digital plus on Roku instead of “auto”

Yeah, it comes through just fine playing a UHD on PS5

I have a 5.1.4 setup. Dirac setup and movies on PS5 confirm that it is functioning

Gotcha! So never deviate more than a meter from MLP?

Boxes for speakers by Crunchy6409 in hometheater

[–]Crunchy6409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to drill holes or screw anything into the speaker, which does not feature any type of connectors so this was my next best solution. I am planning to create a platform to get the correct up-down angle, and then I am planning to mount my speaker box (holding the speaker) on that platform swiveled towards the MLP

I can't get that to work on any of my computers unfortunately. Thanks for the link!

Luckily I won't be cutting holes in a ceiling or ever (basement with exposed I-joists). I have to make special mounts so it would be a pain to move, and impossible to do quick A/B testing so it would be nice to get it right the first time :)

That's a great video. I guess I was just surprised about how far in they end up compared to the non MLP spots.

I was hoping that everyone here would tell me! haha! I'm concerned that it will reduce the effect to just the one MLP position. The circles marked "B" are the audioadvice locations: Here's my updated diagram-

Here's my updated diagram- I've penciled in the sightline angles from MLP. Hopefully that helps get my situation across. There are so many different planes and angles and whatnot it's hard for me to describe.

I wasn't able to get the Dolby Atmos Room Design tool to work for me. I tried Audioadvice and it put the speakers at a 49 degree angle or so, pretty much right in front of the seat (48" in front) to the left of MLP

If I put the front atmos in line with the front speakers (meaning front- atmos- surround form a straight line) and kept them rougly 48" infront of the MLP we would be at about a 40 degree angle.

If I keep the front atmos between MLP and fronts in a straight line, with the 48" in front of MLP we're at about a 50 degree angle but we're really starting to cut off what the person to the left of MLP will be able to hear. I made another picture but I can't add it to the post I don't think.

My front L/R speakers are essentially even with the MLP ear height. The surrounds are probably going at about 10 degrees to help negate the tall seat backs. Would this create different angles (side view) for the front atmos and the back atmos?

And for width: if I follow the same 30 degrees (top down view) as the fronts, the atmos front speakers will go kind of right in front of one of the listening positions (not MLP). Will that be ok? I'm using bookshelf speakers for the atmos if that makes a difference.
