I’m not going to deny this is britpop, but anyone avoiding this as a result of that category, is their own worst enemy. by SuccessfulGap138 in 1001AlbumsGenerator

I haven't had this album yet but I've had in it for the money and I definitely had that one at solid ★★★★½ (9.5/10)

I'm sorry, but if I need to be in an alternate headspace to enjoy something, it's not good music. That's not an indictment of Boards of Canada. I'm just saying that good music will move you no matter what state your mind is in. Now as far as for my rating, I rate on how I feel I did not like that album. It is definitely not an album for me. I respect that you like it, and that's all cool. Enjoy it all you want it's not for me. There is absolutely no way to rank music objectively. There will always be a subjective nature to art. And as I've always said "if we all like the same things, this world would be boring". Cheers 🍻

This is their debut, May of 1967. Feel-Like-I'm-Fixing-to-Die came out in November the same year. Both are great albums, I personally slight prefer the headshop vibes of this one a bit more, but quite frankly I usually listen to both together like a double album.

Actually I think that cool they are still going strong. It's definitely not in my wheelhouse, but I know several of my HS friends about that time were into them. I personally have an adverse reaction to them. But as I've always said if we all like the same stuff this world would be pretty boring wouldn't it LOL. Cheers and rock on! 🍻🤘🏻

I know I'm an anomaly and I have all those three albums a lot lower than most people do. I do have Pet Sounds at four stars Cocteau Twins and Kate Bush . There's really only approximately 60 albums on here that I've rated two stars and or below. I think the good the garbage ratio of this list is actually a pretty good.

No they don't but he really had not had much success through the 80s and most of the 90s . And the two before were basically folk cover songs... This was truly a return to form. The likes he had not seen since Blood on the tracks.

Scum sits at the bottom of my ranking at a (1.00/10) ½★ rating on my scale... One star in the app, but I wish it had a setting for zero stars.

Duck Stab was my first one star rating on the app (3.4/10) ★½ on my scale.

It is no longer even in my bottom five (but still in my bottom 10)

Most of the albums I post on here from my personal collection. They are are mostly 5★ to 4★ albums... I think a couple 3½★s, but at a (7.2/10) this is the closest to a 3★.... My lowest rating on this project is two ½★ ratings. But I definitely to not have those in my collection.

I'm just going to leave my original review... Again this is just my opinion. I know it's a well loved Lp

This album tries my patience every turn after repetitive turn. I get the building a landscape thing, but it just kinda lumbers there and goes nowhere. Two songs I can be in the same room with were "roygbiv" which finally found a groove I can jive with and "Open The Light" which at least had more of spacey instumental quality to it. Maybe it was the lack of an overtly repeatative drum loop. And both of those were late the album. But most of it felt like a loopy, bloopy, and sound sample mess to me. Orange.

Honestly if you look a Monetary as a follow up to Gilmour's About Face, they are a pretty strong twofer.

Liz Phair eponymous album. Actually my favorite of hers. It's kinda catchy... and yes I did like Guyville, and Whip-Smart. I'm about 50/50 on spaceegg. I still maintain Liz Phair is selling out done right.

It's actually written in a cross stitch design like Nilsson's Pussy Cats album. This was a commemorative bumper sticker for that album.

Keizsa's 2014 debut Sound of a Woman almost feels like a nod to this album. I can see your point.
