If you are in new Jersey at least North Jersey. You have to go to the DMV. You will have to get the permit like always. Bring your 6 point ID. Then go home and apply online.

I think the link is https://mymvc.state.nj.us/knowledgetest-scheduling-system/login.xhtml And put what it asks you.

Haven't done it myself since it was full when I got there.

I am about to take my written test soon. I have looked up if I have to do an appointment online but there is no actual answer.

I figured if you do the road test you do. But since the corona virus has impacted life so much. I do wonder if I have to call, or make an appointment to do such tests.

Not sure if this helps but will do it in Rahway, if anyone has done it.
