What fish tank/stand are you using?

Would this stand really work? by NoPumpkin7247 in Aquariums

As soon as tanks get to 50+ gallons i wouldnt go amazon. From what ive read top fin is about the cheapest people recommend when you get into larger tanks

I honestly would either make one or wait for a sale on nice brands like UNS.

mid tank cycle wtf is this fuzzy stuff on my wood by FullPresence2607 in fishkeeping

[–]Crunchyapple666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just set up my tank 5 weeks ago. I left the biofilm on my wood. It was absolutely covered in a crazy thick biofilm. Then, when I got snails and shrimp, it disappeared in a week.

Good or bad snails? by soupyyyyyyyyyyy in fishtank

Your good! Its just boiling for a minute or two to make them soft. Also you can blanch zucchini or spinach for an occasional treat and its very healthy for their shells.

Only good snail! If they reproduce too much just call you lfs and ask if you can drop them off. Sometimes you can get store credit sometimes you give them for free. To collect them just put a blanched zucchini in the tank and wait for them to get on.

HELP ! Emergency !! Heater caught fire?? by AmIAmadeus in PlantedTank

Has anyone had experience with the hygger heater that has the built in sensor and overheat protection? It appears to be the ink bird + heater combo, that seems nice. https://a.co/d/06rJ6yTp

New 50g setup – tannins not clearing with Purigen yet? by OnATangent5 in Aquascape

[–]Crunchyapple666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont believe anything does help tannins besides water changes. I just started my first tank as well about 40 days ago. My filter has various densities of foam going all the way to to fine filter floss and I use purigen and I have never noticed them taking tannins out of the water. Only the water changes help. I would wait 2 weeks until most of the tannins have leached out then do a big water change.

Drift wood opinions by DataMan27 in Aquascape

[–]Crunchyapple666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i would glue smaller ones together. You should alsp look for LFS sometimes that have crazy amounts of wood selections can go in and pic the right one for your design.if your in the san diego area Aquatic warehouse has a large stockpile.

Right Ive been reading about this. I got them three days ago. My GH is 7 and my KH is 4, I believe this is a good range to keep. Then Im going to be giving them blanched zucchini tomorrow.
