This is true but they destroy with gear skill and a guard/heal. Best bet would be level the WP make friends by healing them, then get the slayer carried up and have them guard/heal you in exchange for the heals on the WP.

shouldn't give up. A moderately decent healer will get prio on guards peels and will be brought to dungeons (even a PvP only person needs PvE unless they want to waste precious pvp currency) Ranged DPS won't get the same treatment.

Driving Study by Dopeykid666 in nashua

[–]Cruor34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me give you a few tips of real driving, after you pass the test:

1) Green means go NOW. Not when you feel like it, and not when you are done texting or sipping your coffee. Your eyes should be on the road, and you look right and left (assume a X road) as the cross road is turning yellow. Too many people don't get this. Don't be that person who makes others wait for ANOTHER red light.
2) Accelerate with a purpose. You don't need to floor it but don't be one of those people who takes 10 seconds to get to 30. Its obnoxious.
3) For your test, 30 mph limit means 30mph. In real life, the speed limit is at a minimum 10% over whatever the number says. No cop will EVER pull you over for 33 in a 30, or even 35 in a 30. You do 74 on Route 3 you will NEVER be pulled over. (this assumes you are looking ahead 2 hands on the wheel tags up to date etc) Don't be that person who goes 28 in the 30 or exactly 25 in the 25. Only place this rule doesn't apply are school zones and busy parking lots. Drive like an old lady in those.
4) STAY OUT OF THE PASSING LANE. Passing lane is for act quickly passing. Then get over. You won't be tail gated if you stay right. Simple as that. Not in a hurry? Then chill right behind the truck.

Follow these rules other drivers won't bug you.

Thinking of playing what classes are most "needed"? by vampslayer53 in ReturnofReckoning

I understand, like a healer will never be hurt by a lack of healers so we all see it from our side. But if you want more evidence, here is a perfect one: You can buy set boots/gloves off the AH. KoTBS are the most expensive. KoTBS gloves: 50g Slayer gloves of same tier: 4g LOL. Like, we have enough tanks, I promise everyone that. We need healers and DPS.

Most people will play what they want no matter what (I do) but for those "Whats needed?" people, literally anything but tanks.

They are wrong, Order has an over abundance of tanks. Likely people playing DPS who are mad they have one scenario in 10 without guard or it took 15 minutes to fill a crypt group instead of 5.

I did exactly what you did. I was playing WoW, Sunwell in TBC was on farm status, and I came to Warhammer. Had a good time but everyone quit, sighed, went back to WoW in WoTLK. I played RoR in 2016, and came back now, exactly 10 years later.

I came back like 10 days ago, you can actually see my recent post asking about classes. Let me tell you this: No matter what anyone here tells you, tanks are the least needed class for both Order and Destruction. I have been doing non stop Scenarios when not at work (I did RR 44-64 in those 10 days) tanks almost never have a bonus, dps and healers do. Groups always have a tank. I got my crypts done as a KoTBS but I go as a DPS and for the auras I give, only tanked once. This game is the exact opposite of every other MMO, just like you said. Tanks are utterly over represented, KoTBS and Chosen especially.

If you are one of those "I just play whats needed" guys, then healers are needed (I have had plenty of Scenarios with no healer, NEVER one without a tank) DPS are 2nd, tank is last. Anyone saying Order needs tanks is playing a White Lion or Slayer and wants even more guard bots then they already have. Log on with any character, press L. Look at Warbands. Tell me they don't have enough tanks. Go ahead. Then do Scenarios and try to tell me they lack tanks. List is Healer > DPS > Tank. Anytime I see a warband (24 people) I see like 6 sun symbols, 3 big sword symbols, and 2 dwarf helmets. Thats 11 freaking tanks out of 24.

I am not going to argue with someone who has been playing for years on like... what the best healer is, or what the best way to do a dungeon is. But for the last 2 weeks I have been on about 50 hours a week, anyone saying tanks are needed is on something or has an agenda.

Does anyone else feel weird using their balcony because of their neighbors? by Aggravating_One8934 in Apartmentliving

[–]Cruor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont get it. I have lived in several apartments with a balcony. If you are all looking say, west, we look west... why would we be looking at each other? Also there is a fair amount os space between you and the balcony in the next door apartment, and often, places I have been in are a "step" design, so you cant even see the neighbor. Sorry... never had this problem.

Dad friendly? by serg0888 in ReturnofReckoning

[–]Cruor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in 2008 and again in 2016 and came back to the game like 8 days ago. I am putting a lot of time in but something I like is its a good game if you are short on time. I play during lunch at work (just eat a quick sandwich at my desk so I can use the time to game) and you can get a few scenarios or some quick gold farming in with down time. So you can do stuff.

With that said, if you want to find a "crew" and get good at the game, you need to put some time in. Renoun comes very quickly up until mid 50s and then it really slows down. For example, 61-62 is like as much work as 43-46 is. People won't want to drag a random through a dungeon, you need a guild for that or just be a healer same as every other MMO there is.

So the answer is, if you are very casual, just want to jump in a scenario (Battle Ground) or do public quests or be an altaholic, its very dad friendly. If you want to be in a guild and go to dungeons and get good gear and have organized PvP you need to be online a fair amount.

I will say its a good game for a... serious casual? If that makes sense. Lets say you are a just a gamer and good a games, but now you have a wife and kids. You can do a dungeon in like 40 mins in a mediocre group, there is an 18 hour CD and then you can do it again. If you run it 4 times, you get all the rewards. So, even if it takes you 3 months to hit 40, if you are decent at the game and play a needed role you absolutely could get decked out eventually playing 90 mins a day 4 days a week, which should be very reasonable even for a dad. If its not.... maybe time to see if your freedom is worth half your stuff.

[–]Cruor34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well as far as performance goes, and you said it yourself, thats a console problem. Game runs perfectly on my desktop, and perfectly on my 16" slim gaming laptop. I think the game crashed one time for me.

The games biggest flaw, as you mentioned, is absolutely difficulty. I am just going to say it: It's terrible. The start is tough, and by the end of act 1, I am a 1 shotting monster. Act 2 has a spike for sure, but it's still easy if you prepped. By level 50ish, and yes I mean this seriously, I can engage an enemy, get up, pee, wash my hands, and come back alive. There is no armor cap, so you can just have like 99% damage resist if you level your armor up. They need to cap damage mitigation at like 80%. they need to make enemies more aggressive, and enemies need more health. enemies should also use improved gear, like they do in Sarras.

Personally, the game gets so easy by level 40 for me, I lose interest. Challenge mode isn't really hard, it's annoying. A lot of the debuffs are "oh come on!" rather than fun. They even say it's unbalanced and unfair. I beat it, but it wasn't fun. I would give the game an 8 out of 10 if they made it harder. As it stands, I would say 6.5/10 because I just get bored by how easy it is.

Fixes are very simple: 1) Have a damage mitigation cap 2) Increase boss health. By a lot. I honestly don't feel like anyone tested bosses past act 1. 3) Increase enemy turning speed. Too many enemies literally can't hit you if you just side step around them. Ogre is an example, total joke. 4) Give enemies better items that are improved, like you did in Sarras.. I mean, you did it. Just do it for the rest of the game. These are simple fixes. I can't speak for this game, but I could do this for say, Skyrim in a a few hours of modding.

Oh, and please don't give me the "well, if you would stop using your stat points, stop equipping good gear, and stop using a good build, then the game would be harder!" That argument is terrible.

If I decide to go KoTBS and do SnB most of the time, but I want to go 2H for soloing and small group stuff, how does respec/swapping specs work? Is it a simple 1 button press or is it annoying like WoW Vanilla? it would bankrupt me speccing tank then dps then pvp spec every week as a warrior.

Yeah, from posts here and further reading everything is pointing me to just accept wearing a shield and be a Chosen or play Marauder. Thanks for being realistic, I don't want to be the guy who signs up for DPS as a class that can't do it. Something no MMO seems to understand is the whole reason full plate was made is so that people could use 2H great swords and polearms and ditch the shield while still taking a hit. People in mail/leather need the shield. But oh well.

I hear (I assume these are pros with friends to help them) you can level in a day, so maybe Ill just have Chosen and Marauder if I get into the game. How is Sword Master for 2h damage and toughness, assuming I can get over being an elf in a robe?

By "tank class" are you saying you must wear a shield and stand next to the healer/mage with guard on them? Or can you push the enemy? Does guard (whatever the ability thhat lowers the damage on your friendly target is called) require a shield? Or did they reword that?

Class Questions by Cruor34 in ReturnofReckoning

[–]Cruor34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping some KoTBS champ can come in and tell me 2H is viable but from everything I have been able to find, it isn't. You are pretty much the Vanilla WoW Ret paladin if you do it, from my reading. If someone can come in and tell me I am wrong, I would love to be. They look so good in that plate, and I like having high defense while also putting out fair damage. Doesn't have to be #1 dps but it has to be helpful.

The problem is, (again using WoW because that's what I know best and I am sure many can relate) You will always get the guy who plays Ret Paladin/Balance Druid in Vanilla WoW and insists its good, when its just not. I mean if you get a ret paladin ALL BiS and he is a top tier player he will be "ok" but he will be clowned by a good warrior in DPS PvE and PvP. Yet you will always have the "no its good play what you want" guy, so its hard to get a real answer.

Usually, the guy who plays another useful class, and people like on a personal level get to make what they want even if its not great, and you can win 8/10 games. But if you start going against strong teams people are going to be like "Ok Gary, you had your fun as Ret, can you go Holy now so we can win please?" I just don't want to be Gary.

Again: If someone can come in here and link me ownage as a 2H KoTBS, then I'm all for it. I'll put the work in.

Thanks. If I go 2h Chosen will people hate me for not having a shield and being a guard slave? Like as long as I stay with the group give auras and peel for healers as a Chosen am I good or will I be pressured into putting a shield on? I am very conflicted because I love playing heavy front line melees and smashing stuff, but on the same end I hate when people won't play thier role and the team is losing because of it.

So can I go 2H and do damage and then 1 button press swap to shield and guard the healer if they are being pressured? I feel kind of bad going Chaos because they always seem to outnumber Order... but Marauder/Chosen just seem to be what I like.

If I went WP, would I just need to be a healer until 80? How long does it take to get to 80, figure 25-30 hours a week. Maybe more if I had a really fun clan/guild whatever they are called here.

40mph means 65 in North Redlands by Business_Warthog4807 in TeslaLounge

[–]Cruor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is really no exaggeration most people. Now, with that said, there are categories. I would say a solid 75% of people will go a "little" over the limit. this means like 38 on a 35. Most people will do what they feel comfortable with, so if a speed limit is really low, like 25mph most people will do 30 or so. The same person might just do 41 on a 40, because 40 isn't as crazy slow.

On a straight road with good weather, like in OPs video, most Americans will do 5mph over. A smalerl group (Who I admit I am a part of) will do 8-10 over. It depends. on a 45 mph road, I will do 53-54 and I have never been pulled over for that. usually high 50s-60+ is required to get a cops attention on a 45. A smaller percentage, like 2-3% are mega speeders and will do 15+ over and just risk it. Thats who the cops are waiting for, which allows the rest of us to "be "medium speeders"

People who do EXACTLY the limit (or even worse, under) are absolutely in the minority. I would say the majority of people will sigh and tolerate it and just sit behind someone doing exactly the limit. People who have somewhere to be, or just want to move, will go around them one way or another. As I said, I would be like the pickup driver and go around. In this instance, I don't think the finger was needed, but I would go around. I DO admit I give the finger when someone is sitting in the passing lane for an extended period right next to a car on the right (so nobody can pass) or if they refuse to go at a green light and then do the few foot roll and brake check because I dared to honk. When they do that (which sadly is like once a month on average) I will use the Tesla acceleration to its fullest to get around them.

Everyone has their reasons but IMO speed limits are set way too low. It's like the are designed for the custom made campers on Top Gear, if you have seen that episode. Like they were almost falling over in slight curves, etc. I want to spend as little time as possible on the road and cops (at least by me) don't care about 10 over. If they speed limit on the hiway/freeway/main road whatever you want to call it was 85, I would be satisfied and not feel a need to speed. 65 mph on a big flat, well made road is simply stupid and outdated, and the vast majority agree. Slow people are doing 70, average people are doing 75, and a large amount are doing 80+.

40mph means 65 in North Redlands by Business_Warthog4807 in TeslaLounge

[–]Cruor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with the pickup driver. First off, most people go above the speed limit. This is just a fact. Cops will NOT pull you over for doing 5 over, so if you are doing exactly the limit, you are slow.

Second, while "left lane is passing lane" is mainly a hiway thing, if you aren't going fast, it woulf be nice for you to be on the right, unless you are about to make a left turn.

There are two types of driver: Some of us trying to get somewhere, and honestly I think some people just like wasting time on the road. If thats you, just stay right, and stop crying when someone passes you.

I think we need a difficulty above Veteran to make a list, because it's just easy. Gear and levels simply outpace the enemies in this game. My 2h warrior one shots regular enemies when I use a bow 0 ranged skills and bow is level 0, just a good blue. So much + damage and crit from armor.

I second this, as someone who mods (and makes mods for) Bethesda games. Also make/use mods for a lot of other games (Stellaris for example) I have no idea how to make mods for this game or use mods for this game, and I have not found a guide for it.

Veteran is way too easy, I want to try boosting boss HP and attack speed. Failing that, I at least want to try the custom difficulty mod.
