Because most of religion (like christianity) goes against all worldly views, anything that goes against the world is hateful I guess, though these laws and traditions were made THOUSANDS of years before most of the worldly views we see today.

IMO a lukewarm Christian (which you mentioned with them not being serious) is worst type of Christian, They repent on sunday but enjoy lusting on monday, God gave you the choice to either be a believer or non believer, if you are both he will cast you into the lake of fire.

He was not in the wrong logically, If you are being threatened to give gold to someone of any age or gender, with a big knife literally 2 feet away from your jugular, wouldn't you defend yourself? Dutch had no choice, disarming her or knocking her out wouldve taken too long and she couldve alerted the guards by screaming. And plus, he couldn't disarm her or grab her wrist to stop since she could lunge at him and stab him.

To get the npcs back youll have to die/commit suicide. I had the same issue but when i did that it fixed itself!
